AIIMS being a government university has the liberty of setting its own course syllabus. There are regular CCR/CGR (Clinical combined Rounds) conducted which can be attended by the students to look at some of the rare and interesting diagnoses or any of the novel methods of treatment. AIIMS sets the record for producing the most no of journal papers in a year ( for any medical institute present in India).

AIIMS Deoghar is newly inaugurated AIIMS in 2019. It offers courses among 20+ departments. 

If you talk about good or bad then -

Advantages- 

• First of all, Deoghar (Jharkhand) earlier didn't had good medical facilities. So there is load of patients and variety of patients. It is a very good advantage for students. 
• Labs in AIIMS Deoghar are well-equipped for every branch. 
• Hostel facilities are much better. 

Disadvantage - 

• As the construction of AIIMS Deoghar started late so the classes are not conducted in any government college but they are conducted in PTI (panchayat training Institute) 
• Library are not of that standard which other AIIMS have. 

AIIMS Deoghar is one of the most least preferred AIIMS. 

Yes, with a NEET UG cutoff rank of 7000, you can get into AIIMS Deoghar for admission to the MBBS course. In 2025, the NEET UG closing ranks ranged between 3164 and 9475 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. However, which round you will be admitted to is not confirmed, as the ranks were more competitive in the initial rounds. Therefore, it is advisable to wait until the last round to see in which round you will be admitted. 

AIIMS Deoghar NEET UG Round 3 cutoff for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is 4732 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. Compared to AIIMS, Patna Medical College and Hospital charges less for MBBS, at about INR 18,000 each semester. Hostel, mess, and library fees are extra, just like at AIIMS Deoghar, albeit probably less expensive. Scholarships are available from AIIMS Deoghar and PMCH for deserving candidates, which can ease the financial load.

In comparison to PMCH, the alumni network at this younger college may be smaller. It's possible that several college facilities are older than AIIMS Deoghar. restricted research opportunities in contrast to AIIMS Deoghar. competitive admissions as a result of its positive standing.
