The passing minimum marks in Alagappa University exam is 40% out of 25/15 marks in theory papers. A minimum of 40% out of 40/10* marks is required in practical exams.

Alagappa University offers the Bachelor of Science (BSc) course to students with a lot of exposure building activities. In order to be eligible for the BSc programme at Alagappa University, the student must have, first of all, qualified his Higher Secondary education. There is no seat reservation at the university for SC/ST candidates. However, Alagappa University reserve seats for differently-abled students applying for the BSc course. The university admit candidates as per the sanctioned seat intake for the respective college. It follows the reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
