Mess food at GTU is quite average and there is pinch of sugary taste in the dal and vegetables because of the common taste of gujrati cooks made food. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the morning breakfast, they serve bread-butter, bread-jam, tea-biscuit, vadapav, samosa, srikhand, pyaaz kachori etc. In the evening lunch and dinner, menu remains almost same, roti, chawal, dal, 2 vegetable - one aalo or moong and other one is kadi, bhindi, parwal, brinjal.

Yes, Gujarat University has seperate hostel facility for both girls and boys. Hostel accommodation is only for those who reside more than 40KM away from the campus and are studying for a PG course degree.
