No, Mathematics is not compulsory for a BA in Economics at Mangalore University. The eligibility criteria that univeristy require for admissions to BA courses are candidates must complete their Class 12 from a recognised board of education or from any stream with decent scores. Hence, if candidates have studied and did not study Mathematics in their Class 12 or equivalent is not necessary to get admissions into BA in Economics.

However, before getting enrolled, candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria, i.e., the successful completion of the Class 12 examination or its equivalent from a recognised board with related stream/ subjects. Admissions are based on the merit of the last qualifying examination marks.Moreover, some of the university-affiliated colleges accept entrance examination scores for admissions to BSc courses. Moreover, a few affiliated colleges also offer BSc courses in part-time mode in several specialsaitions.
