Mangalore University is one of the oldest public universities in the southern region.  It is a NAAC 'A' accredited university with recognition from AIU (Association of Indian Universities). The univeristy offers UG and PG courses across various streams such as Management, Science, Commerce, Arts, and others. Mangalore University offers scholarships to meritorious students under various schemes. The university has a dedicated placement cell which help the students. University of Mysore is also good, but I prefer Mangalore University, with first-class campus environment and first-class teachers.There are no comparable standards for universities, and every university has different development ideas. B.A.	Candidate must have passed 12th/equivalent from any recognised institute/board are eligible to apply.
B.Com	Candidate must have passed 12th/equivalent from any recognised institute/board are eligible to apply.
M.A.	Candidates who have studied Konkani as either the first or second language at the graduate degree level for not less than two years/four semesters are also eligible to apply provided such applicants have secured not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the examination of the subject. The marks scored in the Konkani First or Second language examinations would be equated with the marks of the optional Konkani (the cognate subject) as follows:60% in Konkani First or Second language to 45% of optional Konkani (the cognate subject).Candidates who have passed any Bachelor degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto and have secured an aggregate minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks are also eligible to apply if seats are left vacant after considering applications from category 1 and 2 above. The candidates from this category, i.e.; category 3 would be selected solely on the basis of an entrance test designed to test (a) the candidates' ability to read, write and speak Konkani fluently, and (b) a basic awareness of the literary world of Konkani.
M.Com	Candidate must have B.Com/B.B.M or equivalent with mentioned marks in the aggregate in commerce subjects from any recognised university.
BCA	Candidate must have passed 12th/equivalent from any recognised institute/board are eligible to apply.
Certificate	Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or any other examination considered as equivalent theretoLanguage shall be eligible. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit based on the degree/certificate in each of the following categories:1.Post Graduate and above2.Graduate3.10+2Students who are studying 10+2/Graduate/Post Graduate Level or its equivalent levels may do this programme along with regular classes.
UG Diploma	Candidates who have passed the certificate examination in German language conducted by Mangalore University or any other recognised University is eligible for admission. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit of the respective Certificate examination.Candidates who have obtained their certificate in German language from any other institution one year before the year of admission shall be required to appear for an admission test to be conducted by the university.
MBA/PGDM	Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks (45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). Final year students can also apply on provisional basis.

Mangalore University, an accredited higher educational institution was established in 1980, and has since been catering to the higher educational needs of three districts of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Mangalore University offers courses such as BSc in various specialisations for the duration of 3 years to 4 years in full-time mode. Admissions to the respective courses is offered on the basis of merit and requires for candidates to secure a minimum aggregate of 35% in Class 12 with valid scores in CBSE 12, Karnataka 2 PUC, ISC, KCET, UK 12. The university offers admission to BSc with an annual intake of 5400+ students. 

Mangalore University offers courses at the UG, PG, PhD, PG Diploma, and Certificate levels. Admission to majority of courses is offered on the basis of Karnataka PGCET and KCET. Primarily, Mangalore University offers courses such as BPEd and MBA on the basis of valid scores of KCET. Apart from this, candidates must qualify Class 12 and graduation for admission to UG and PG level courses. 

Mangalore University offers MBA as a 2 year UG level programme in full-time mode. Admission to the MBA programme is done through the PGCET exam conducted by the Karnataka state government. Apart from this, the university considers KCET, CAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT or other equivalent. Furthermore, the university offers an MBA on the basis of 45% minimum aggregate in graduation. 

Mangalore University offers BCA as a 3 year UG level programme. Admission to BCA is offered on the basis of merit and would require candidates to secure a minimum aggregate of 35% to 45% in Class 12. Candidates must secure valid scores in previously attempted institutional level entrance exam. However, there has not been any other set of entrance exams indicated by the university for the admission to BCA course.
