Forty percent of the seats are reserved for the students domiciled in the State of Maharashtra. That means sixty percent of seats are open. Those seats can be allotted to anyone, including Maharashtra Candidates, as these seats are not reserved for OMS.

BTech Lateral Entry course lasts for three years unlike the four-year full-time course. Aspirants seeking admission to BTech Lateral Entry course must pass a Diploma in Engineering with 60% aggregate or its equivalent (50% aggregate for reserved category). As per the selection process for this course, the university selects candidates based on their merit obtained in the last qualifying exam, followed by a Statement of Purpose (500 words).
