North Bengal University and Siliguri Institute of Technology each have their specialties but serve different interests. An already well-established university is NBU, which offers a wide variety of bachelor's and master's programs and holds a greater overall academic reputation. It provides a more conventionally university-type experience and has a much wider network of alumni, meaning it can be of help for some fields, such as arts, sciences, and research.Siliguri Institute of Technology is a private engineering college, mostly devoted to the teaching of technical subjects. Its major emphasis is engineering, technology and related fields such as SIT, whose major focus is on tie-ups with the industry and placement opportunities mostly limited to tech and related fields; it might not be so widely known as NBU.If you choose to study Technical courses like Engineering, then SIT is a good option indeed. NBU will be suited for larger fields of study or a classic university experience.
