VNSGU Surat MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2025

MSc in Aquatic Biology	- A candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree examination in Science with English as compulsory subject. - A candidate who has obtained his/her Bachelor’s degree with any one subject in Biological Sciences e.g. Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Fishery Sciences, Industrial Fish & Fisheries, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Biotechnology and Medical Technology as principal or subsidiary shall be eligible to apply for admission in M.Sc. Aquatic Biology degree Course.
MSc in Zoology	A candidate shall be admitted to M.Sc. Bioscience (Botany) / M.Sc. Bioscience (Zoology) / M.Sc. Bioscience (Microbiology) based on subject which he/she has taken as the Core –I (Principal) subject at the B.Sc. Degree examination.

This is my experience at university.

Placements: There are no placement facilities available. Companies do not visit for campus recruitment. Internship opportunities are also lacking, but students can pursue a Ph.D. from the department. Top roles offered include Quality Control Executive, Farm Manager, etc. The highest and lowest salary packages depend on the company.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the department is decent. It lacks some equipment. The entire department is Wi-Fi enabled. Classrooms are equipped with basic amenities such as lights, fans, projectors, and screens. Library is well-stocked with a variety of books and journals to gain knowledge. Hostel is a bit disappointing as it lacks some basic facilities, such as 24/7 water supply.

Faculty: Teachers in the department are well-educated and skilled. They provide clear explanations for each topic. Course is relevant and makes students to be industry-ready. The difficulty level of exams depends on the students, as the questions can be attempted if the notes are thoroughly studied.

I am satisfied with teachers.

Placements: Our college has good placements. Top recruiting companies like Luthra, ONGC, etc., visit our campus. The salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month to Rs. 25,000 per month. Around 30% to 40% of students are placed.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. Our classrooms are good. The hostel facilities are available for those students who live outside Surat. Our hostel beds are good. They maintain cleanliness in hostel rooms. The quality of food is average.

Faculty: Our faculty members are excellent, supportive, knowledgeable, and well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are good.

Our college has good Chemistry department.

Placements: Around 70 to 80% of people get placements in good companies. Many are offered internships in the companies first. If work is good then they will be offered placement in the same company. Chemical companies of Vapi, Surat, and Ankleshwar offer placements.

Infrastructure: University buildings and infrastructure are much developed. There is a good and well-oriented library and classrooms. Canteen is of average quality with more different menu.

Faculty: Professors in the Chemistry department are helpful and knowledgeable. They have much experience in their profession. We can learn much from them.

Other: M.Sc. Chemistry is of 2 years. We study round the year to get good marks in exams.

Most of the students got the placement, if you didn't get you will get in direct interviews.

Placements: Around 20 to 40 % of students got campus placement, and they got a package of 2.5 to 5.7 LPA. Package from various chemical industries, some of the the the the the students got selected in very reputed companies like reliance, ongc in campus placement, you can continue your Ph.D. for better future.

Infrastructure: College is almost like a forest you will find greenery everywhere, healthy food available at the canteen at affordable prices, they have a badminton court, football ground, cricket ground, and they have a collection of lacs of books in the library in physical form as well as digital form.

Faculty: Maximum faculty members are experienced and Ph.D. qualified, some of them are net/set/GATE qualified, course they are offering is directly connected to industry and especially for the research and development department because most of the faculty members have experience in various chemical industries.

Other: I choose this college because of the environment and my course provides a safe future for teaching lines as well as the industry.

It is a very good and vast university.

Placements: About 70% of students are selected on-campus selection. The highest salary package offered in our course is 12 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Drugs-related companies are coming for their recruitment. Many students got placement in Cipla and other pharma industries. The top role offered in our course is supervisor.

Infrastructure: Every facility is available which students need. There are the latest technology developed for students like Wi-Fi and there are more then 5000 books in the library. There is also a canteen available. There are also sports grounds available for students.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and every professor has a minimum of 10 years of experience in our university. They have very good behavior with students. They give practical knowledge to students which is helpful for the students in real life. They are making students great.

Other: Every festival is celebrated in our university. There is culture like a home.

This college is recommended for the microbiology course.

Placements: About 50% of the students were placed from our course. The highest salary package offered was 3.50 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3.30 LPA. KRIBHCO and Sanofi-Aventis were recruiting companies here. All the students of our batch got internships in different top pharmaceutical companies.

Infrastructure: All the needed facilities are available here, and there is a free Wi-Fi facility on the campus. There are state-of-art laboratories with all instruments and equipment. All standard reference books and national and international journals are also available in the library. Hostels were average. The quality of the food served during our tenure was average.

Faculty: All the faculty members of all the courses like B.Sc in microbiology, B.Sc in computer science, B.Sc in biotechnology and M.Sc in microbiology course are highly qualified and experienced. The course curriculum of all courses is similar to the things used in industry.

Other: Microbiology is the future demanding course of this developing world, so I chose it. Now, microbiology students can set up their own laboratories or can work in many pharma companies with attractive salaries. The syllabus is very lengthy in terms of course duration. All extracurricular activities like celebrations of special days, sports events and an annual gathering are also conducted regularly.
