Students studying in VMOU have to take two semester exams. VMOU Term End Examination (TEE) is conducted in June and December. For admission to UG programmes candidates must pass Class 12 from a recognised board of education. For admission to PG programmes, candidates must complete graduation from a recognised university. Admission to B Ed, MPhil, PhD, MBA, and MCA programmes are done on the basis of entrance test.

Students cannot opt for revaluation for practical papers, internal assignments, project reports, dissertations, viva-voce, due papers, boycotted papers, special examinations, and improvement papers, etc. For re-evaluation, candidates need to apply within 15 days after the declaration of the result. The amount that candidates need to pay for revaluation is INR 300.
