AMU Admission 2020 Application Date Extended: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) extended the application dates for Registration for the Autumn / Odd Semester Exam until October 3, 2020, without any late fees. However, after the deadline, candidates will only be able to avail of the option of registering for AMU undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by it by paying an additional late fee. Applications with late fee would be accepted by the varsity from October 4 to October 9, 2020. Earlier, the university extended the last date for registration until September 22, and until September 30 with a late fee. The University confirmed the postponement by releasing official notification.
Following the latest guidelines released by the UGC, which asked varsities to “conduct all merit-based examinations by the end of October” AMU decided to extend the application dates for AMU Admissions 2020 for the Autumn / Odd Semester. The extension in granting merit-based admissions has been granted by the universities' apex regulator after SC asked CBSE and UGC to co-ordinate their efforts to facilitate admission of students appearing for compartmental exams in September end. Earlier, UGC asked universities to begin the academic session by September.
Entrance Exam in November
According to the details released by the University, the varsity would screen candidates for admission to the offered undergraduate courses by conducting an entrance exam. The entrance test is scheduled to be held from November 1 to November 10, 2020. The entrance exam would be held by the varsity with all the necessary precautions as recommended by UGC as well as the Health Ministry against the COVID-19 spread.
