Jamia Online Placement Drive 2020: Interactive sessions conducted to prepare students for virtual recruitment

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) recently launched an Online Placement Drive 2020 to facilitate placements to the graduating students. As a part of this online placement drive, JMI University Placement Cell (UPC) organized an online interactive session on 'Getting ready for Virtual Interviews' on May 13, 2020, to prepare students ace placement interviews virtually. The expert speaker of the interactive session was Sanjay Baxla, Ex Senior Vice President, HR, DLF Ltd.

Mr Baxla talked about the requirements of today's job market. He also explained the candidates about the communication skills needed and how to face the interview online to be selected.  Various questions were asked by the students on facing interviews online. The interactive session received registration from a large number of students but due to an unfortunate technical glitch, only 100 students could participate.

On May 10, a webinar on "Cracking Online Job Interviews and Techniques for Group Discussion" was also organised by JMI UPC. The keynote speaker of the webinar was Ahmed Sabih Kidwai, Director-Learning Solutions, Schneider Electric India, French Multinational Company. The webinar was attended by more than 100 students and teacher placement coordinators from various departments.

Mr. Kidwai is a seasoned professional and has led human resources functions for various multinationals in the country. He opened the session by talking about proven techniques of understanding interviews, gravitas and communication skills. He also explained to the participants the nuances of online interview skills through a clear and articulate presentation.  

The webinar also witnessed an interactive question and answer session where My Kidwai resolved the queries of the students.
