Live case studies provide exposure to students & make them industry-ready, says ISBR Associate Professor
ISBR Business School Associate Professor and Head of the Department Quantitative Techniques & Analytics (PGDM) Sheetal Johar elaborates about how the syllabus is continuously updated and revised to keep up with the new-world techniques. She also talks about exposure provided to students to make them industry-ready.
Q: What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?
A: We design our syllabus which is outcome-based. Every subject is taught with the objective in mind that the student should be able to apply it in real world. Practical examples are taken and concepts are taught using these examples. This helps students to be better entrepreneurs, consultants and managers.
Q: How are you preparing your students to be industry-ready?
A: The rigour of the programme and the exposure given to students by way of Industry interface, internships, live projects, visits to industry, panel discussions, etc., makes the students industry ready.
Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?
A: Students should have the passion for learning, thirst for knowledge. Success is achieved by people who have passion. They should have the qualities and willingness to explore different avenues in management which can lead them to be good managers tomorrow.
Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?
Is your college receptive to innovation, technology, science & entrepreneurship? How? Could you cite some examples of these?
A: We are continuously updating and revising our syllabus keeping in line with the trend and need of Industry. In Analytics we have brought in the syllabus which is in trend with the industry. Live case studies are handled which gives good exposure to students and makes them industry ready. Lot of learning is also done by studying the research papers published in reputed journals which brings in the latest trend globally.
We use the latest tools used in industry for Analytics. Students are involved in data collection, analysis and bring out suggestions which can be used by the industry. This makes them technically ready for the industry. They can take up consulting and become entrepreneurs.

Yes, ISBR Business School in Bangalore refunds fees for admission cancellations if you withdraw within the deadline. However, the admission fee is not refundable.
