MHRD launches IGNOU's online MA Hindi Programme and various other UG,PG courses

Education Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' launched various online courses of India's largest open university, IGNOU. 

Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched the online MA (Hindi) programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on May 20. The programme was launched via Facebook Live session which was broadcast live through IGNOU’s Gyan Darshan TV Channel, Gyan Dhara, and Facebook page.

While launching the online programme, Mr Pokhriyal said, “This would strengthen our "Padhe India Online" initiative. He also added that lakhs of learners across the country are benefitted with the online education initiatives such as National Digital Library (NDL), Swayam, Swayam Prabha, Diksha among other platforms and IGNOU's step in the same direction will give impetus to this.

The HRD Minister also talked about the role the Hindi language plays in India and in other countries including Mauritius, Fiji, Surinam etc.

Apart from MA in Hindi, the Open University also launched programmes in MA in Gandhi and Peace Studies, BA in Tourism Studies, certificate course in information technology, certificate course in Arabic, a certificate programme in Library and Information Science.

Interested and eligible candidate can access these online courses offered by IGNOU through its portal www.iop.ignouonline.ac.in. The online programme consists of video and audio lectures, tutorials etc. would help the candidates to learn and excel in the opted subjects with ease.

The largest Open University of India, IGNOU also offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, and diploma courses in the open and distance learning (ODL) mode. Students from all across the country enrol themselves and study for these courses. The introduction of the online courses taken by IGNOU is another step of the Indian education system toward digitalization of the teaching-learning process.
