Now that the college was final, the next step was to follow the admission process. JIMS offers admission to the aspirant's basis of the entrance test scores, JET (JIMS Entrance Test) followed by Personal Interview round. I started preparing for the same on my own with the help of Google and other preparatory resources available in the market. I was able to clear both the rounds and on the basis of the combined results, I was offered admission to the institute.

My family and I were clear about my creative side since my childhood. So I chose Humanities as a stream in class 11 and 12 and decided to go for Interior Designing (ID) as a career option.  Soon after completing Class 12 exams, to bring this dream to the reality of becoming an Interior Designer, I started looking for college offering degree programmes in Interior Designing across Delhi NCR. My search boiled down to JIMS - Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences, Vasant Kunj which was offering a three-year undergraduate degree programme in Interior Designing. JIMS has been a very reputed brand in higher education for the last 28 years in Delhi/NCR. This goodwill attracted me the most towards this college. When I personally met Swati Parvatiyar, HOD of ID Department in college, I was totally convinced that JIMS VK – II is the right college for me. She introduced me to the highly experienced faculty team, the curriculum design, industry-academia connections and what not. All these factors collectively helped me in deciding that JIMS is the best choice for me.

Post admission, after spending a significant amount of time on the campus, I have realised that the JIMS is way more intense than is projected in the films. The environment, growth opportunities offered, student-faculty connect, regular events, workshops and seminars together contribute towards the student’s industry readiness. I had the honour to be chosen as JIMS Mr. Fresher of my batch.

In college, I try to make every moment count either by learning something new or by making memories with my friends. As for classes, mostly I prefer Interior Design and History classes, as I like learning about the architecture and Interiors of monuments.

One of the best things about the faculty here is their experience. Most of them have great industry experience which acts as an added advantage during classroom sessions. They share their success stories, take us through the challenges they had faced in their career, and how did they manage to overcome them. Additionally, they keep educating us about the latest trends and practices followed in the market. I like learning new things, socialising, asking career doubts to the faculties, and practicing concepts learned in the classroom. The college journey so far has transformed me into a confident and a knowledgeable person.
