BBA entrance exam usually has four sections based on the English Language/English Proficiency, Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning/Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge/General Awareness. The exam pattern of almost all BBA entrances for different universities is more or less the same.

Q:   What is the scope of IPMAT exam?


The Integrated Program in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Indore is one of its kind. Right after Class 12, it endows the candidates to get admission into one of the most prestigious B-Schools of the country, i.e., IIM-I and that too without appearing for a highly competitive exam such as CAT. IPMAT scores are now accepted by other top management institute such as IIFT, IIM Ranchi,  Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law and Institute of Management, Nirma University

And as for the scope of IPM, it is very broad, just like that of the PGDM from any top Indian Institute of Management (IIM). The IPM programme is divided into two phases. The first phase builds the foundation and the Phase II of the programme focuses on Business Management. There are ample carreer opportunities, in sales, marketing, finance, banking, insurance, Civil Services. Graduates from the IPM programme at IIM Indore have excellent career prospects. SVKMs NMIMS has released the NPAT syllabus. Candidates can find the NMIMS NPAT syllabus for all three sections from the official website. UGAT syllabus includes all the important topics of subjects that are relevant for business administration and general aptitude. For UGAT exam, candidates have to study, English Language, Numerical and Data Analysis, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and General Knowledge. Given below are the key topics included in the UGAT syllabus: -

  1. The English Language section of UGAT exam syllabus includes various topics of Grammar, Word Meaning, Vocabulary, Parajumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Completion, Synonyms and Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, Idioms, Analogies, etc.
  2. The Numerical and Data Analysis section of UGAT syllabus includes all the topics of Mathematics from Class 9 to 10 such as Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra Trigonometry, Modern Math, Number System, Percentages, Equations, Ratio and Proportion, Work and Time, Averages, Mensuration, etc.
  3. The Reasoning and Intelligence section of the UGAT syllabus includes topics such as Coding and Decoding, Visual Reasoning, Puzzles, Patterns, Arrangement, Blood Relations, Strong and Weak Arguments, Course of Action, Series, etc.
  4. The last section, General Knowledge, of the UGAT syllabus is based on the current happenings, domestic and international news, history, etc. The questions are based on topics such as Current Affairs, Sports, Politics, Economics, Business, History, Geography, Famous Personalities, Books and Authors, etc. 

In order to prepare well for UGAT, candidates need to prepare well with the help of UGAT past year question papers and sample papers. By solving sample papers of UGAT, candidates will have an idea of the difficulty level of the UGAT question paper and the type of questions asked in the exam. Candidates can solve the sample papers while keeping in mind the syllabus of UGAT exam.

Q:   Is there GK included in the syllabus of BBA in NPAT?


In the previous sessions of NMIMS NPAT exam, there was a section for General Knowledge. Candidates had toi answer questions from static GK as well as current affairs. However, SVKMs NMIMS do not have questions from GK section after 2020 exam session. The three core sections of NPAT exam are

  • Verbal Reasoning: This section includes questions to test English Proficiency of the candidate.
  • Logical Reasoning: This section includes questions to measure the ability or aptitude to reason logically.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: This section includes questions to gauge the basic mathematical skills of the candidate.

NPAT exam does not include questions from GK or current affairs.

Q:   How many exams do I have to give for IPM? Is the syllabus different for every IPMAT exam?

The number of exams you will have to give for IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) depends on the specific institute where you are applying. IPMAT is conducted by some of the top management institutes in India, such as IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Ranchi, among others. For example, IIM Indore conducts a two-stage selection process for admission into its five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) course. The first stage involves appearing for the IPMAT exam, and the second stage includes a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI) for the shortlisted candidates. The syllabus for IPMAT may differ slightly from one institute to another, but generally, it covers topics such as Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning.
