My day starts by taking classes in the morning and it’s just a part of my routine now, says Anshika
I was very confused and stressed out about what subject I should choose in Class 11, but later I realised my interest lies in Marketing and Management and I opted for commerce with Computer/ Information Practices. As the time in school passed and the more I studied my interest in the subject grew. I then decided to move ahead with a BBA degree and build my future path over this. It was difficult too, as being Commerce without Maths student, I had limited options as compared to students who had Maths. And, I had to shortlist the course and the institute basis the opportunities they bring to students for growth. I researched and with a list of colleges, I still had research left to do. I talked, reached out to people and researched. And then I read about JIMS Kalkaji - Jagannath International Management School over the net and then I talked to my friends who were a part of this institute and I knew I had to go there when I read about it. I was happy when I finally cracked the admission at the institute of my choice.
After completing Class 12, I had no idea about what to do ahead and what to pursue. I had no idea about entrances and how college admission works. I joined Pratham coaching classes and due to the pandemic, everything was online and there were a ton of children in the class which made it very difficult to understand, but it worked out anyway. I applied for BJMC and Journalism entrances in Delhi University as backup, but these courses were not of my interest and just a safe play for me. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do well and get admission to BBA at JIMS. I tried my best to prepare for my entrance exams and my hard work helped me reach a step forward to what I have planned. There were so many subjects to look at and study from, I kept my basic understanding of the subjects clear which helped me a lot with getting a better result. I was happy with JIMS as my college choice as the distance is near to my home and the travel time is very less.
College for us just refers to online classes, for now, our batch didn’t get a chance to live college life yet. My day starts by taking classes in the morning and it’s just a part of my routine now. I really enjoy Business Communication, E-Commerce lab and Business Economics class these days.
I am a part of the Social Media Club and NSS of our college, and both the clubs have been a good source of learning and gaining new experience for me.
If given a chance, I would love to pursue Drawing side by side and make a commission out of it for the time being and also so that I don’t go out of practice. The college has been a great place for me. It has taught me how to be consistent when it comes to work, to value deadlines, researching, teamwork and how to present the best work. It has helped me mature and be a great communicator too. I hope to learn more in the coming years.
