The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. For ST candidates, it is 65 percentile and for PwD candidates it is 60 percentile. Given below are the sectional and overall qualifying CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore.

Q:   What is the cutoff for MBA at PSG Institute of Management?

Selection to MBA is done on the basis of merit obtained in MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

Candidates applying for the 2-year MBA full-time course need to have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university

Final selection for all courses offered by PSG Institute of Management is based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

Q:   How many students can do B.Com at SMS Varanasi?
A: 

SMS Varanasi offers admission to a three-year BCom course with 240 seats. The B.Com (Hons) programme is also available at the institute The admission process for the UG courses at SMS Varanasi requires candidates to qualify the entrance test conducted by the School of Management Sciences, Varanasi. To be eligible for admission to the B.Com course, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Commerce stream or Economics/Mathematics as the main subjects. Candidates need to qualify for the SMS Online Entrance Test, which is an in-house entrance exam conducted by the Institute for the selection of candidates.

 
Q:   What is the difference between qualifying CAT cut off and final CAT cut off?
A: 
Qualifying CAT cut off percentiles of an IIM is the minimum percentile (sectional as well as overall) required by candidates to be eligible for the Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interview PI round. These are only eligibility score and not the score for selection. The final CAT cut off percentiles are the scores on the basis of which a candidate is actually selected for the What-PI round. The qualifying CAT cut offs are released publically before the CAT exam and result as a part of selection criteria for the MBA/PGP batch of that year. The qualifying cut offs for CAT are release category wise - General, NC/OBC. General-EWS, SC/ST, PwD. The qualifying cut offs percentiles of General category candidate is higher than then rest. The final CAT cut offs are not released publically. The cut offs are estimate on the basis of candidate's selection for What-PI. The final CAT cut offs for General category candidate is also higher than then rest.

 MBA Admission Process Through CAT

Now that you’ve checked the list of MBA colleges accepting CAT score 50-60 percentile, understand their admission process too. The admission process of CAT 60 percentile colleges and CAT 50 percentile MBA colleges is same, i.e. Presentation, Written Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates can select colleges as per their preference and cut offs. 

Post the application submission, the B-School checks candidates’ credentials and shortlist them for the admission round i.e. GD/PI. Candidates have to then appear in this round on the given date, time and venue. Final selection for admission is based on GD/PI performance. Upon final selection, the institute intimate candidates for completing the remaining admission process after which the MBA classes commence.

No, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar has not mentioned that it accepts CAT score for MBA admissions on their portals. Candidates are instead required to appear for an in-house entrance exam that is conducted by GNDU itself.

Yes, IBSAT exam is comparatively easier than CAT in terms of syllabus difficulty level and competition. CAT question paper requires high anlaytical solving skills to score well in exam, whereas IBSAT exam assesses candidate's speed and accuracy. The difficulty level of IBSAT exam is moderate.

Srinivas University - Bangalore Campus accepts national or state-level Management entrance exam scores for admission in MBA. Hence, aspirants can apply via CAT scores. They can also appear for SUAT conducted by the university for admission.

The registrations for the exam generally start from the month of August and continue till September. The admit cards are released by November. Exam is conducted usually by last week of November. Students can download their results by December.

Yes, COEP, Pune does accept CAT score to admit candidates for MBA admissions. During CAP rounds, if candidates have a valid score in CAT, they will be chosen based on those scores only. Thus, such candidates are not required to reappear for MAH-CET.

No, you cannot get direct admission to the MBA course based on the CAT score. A valid CAT score only gets you eligible to apply for the management course.
