This PGDM programme offered me a global exposure I was looking for: Doel Bhattacharya
In school, I was good in Mathematics and Chemistry and scored 9.2 CGPA in class 10th from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Due to this reason, I chose PCM and information practice in my senior secondary education. After performing well in my class 12th exams, I decided to opt for engineering in computer science from GGITS, Jabalpur. After being placed and working for over two years with TCSL, Nagpur, I realised I have keen interest in management activities and always wanted to be part of those. I was part of various HR initiatives in TCSL. I was master of ceremony for Indo-Latam fest and Japanese client events conducted by TCSL, Nagpur. I was mentor of teaching Spanish to my colleagues. In Toastmasters International, I learned the skill of networking. That was the time I thought of pursuing PGDM one semester abroad course from ISBR Business School.
I was amazed by the global exposure provided by ISBR Business School. I am always keen to know about global economy and how does global managers work. I made the best choice as I can utilize each and every skill of mine with guidance of experienced faculties, peer learning and real time case study learning opportunities. All these activities helped me to optimize my skills.
I was selected at ISBR through my GMAT score. I had to go through various interview rounds. First round was aptitude test. Second round was micro presentation on different topics. Third round was personal interview. It was worth the experience to face all the rounds and accomplished it successfully. For GMAT, I did preparation by myself using various online courses such as EGMAT and solving questions available on the Official site of GMAT. I have also attended online webinars about Cracking GMAT. I was looking for those colleges in India that provides global exposure and ISBR proved to be the best in all the aspects of learning.
The best part of our learning is the real time experiences. We are mostly given case study projects and presentations on upcoming topics and keeping ourselves updated to the latest happenings. With the great experience shared by our faculties, we learnt the best practices which are to be inculcated in respective subjects. In my first trimester, my favorite subjects were Statistics, Organizational Behavior and Business Communication. Apart from academics we have diverse scope of expanding our skills by being part of various committees, clubs and personality development courses. I am part of placement student committee and handling recruitment team. During this time, I was handler of Ceremony for inauguration ceremonies of AIMA, MBA for working professionals. I was Master of Ceremony for placement orientation program. I am the core member of organizing committee Speak2Lead: Initiative by ISBR. I have been part of social learning activity and used to go for teaching students at orphanage. I have conducted webinar as a live project of business communication on Analytics by Abhijeet Sarkar, Senior data analyst and Infocepts. I won best evaluator award at Infosys Toastmasters International Club. I wanted to be part of TEDx events of ISBR Business School. Every day is a new learning experience and ignites the path of positive hopes. I could feel holistic development in my personality since the time I joined ISBR. Special thanks to the management of ISBR for providing us the opportunity towards self-growth.
