Within 1 year of my journey at JIMS Rohini, I have evolved as a confident & expressive person, says Muskan

From the beginning, I was sure of opting for Commerce for my higher secondary studies as I always had an interest in Accounts and Finance. To make my dream of an aspiring career come true, I decided to pursue BCom (Hons). I am a Delhi University alumnus (Batch 2018). The three years of graduation in Commerce have given me sound knowledge of accounting and finance and an added advantage was an internship experience of one year with a CA firm based in Delhi. After graduation, I realised the need for some more practice and management knowledge in parallel. Last year I decided to pursue a management degree and started looking for college across the city. This was the time when I got to know about the JIMS Rohini - Jagan Institute of Management Studies in Delhi.

After doing deep-dive research on the institute, I found multiple reasons to join such as affordability of course fee, cooperative teaching faculty and good placements record. This was enough for me to decide that I want to continue with my post-graduation at JIMS, Rohini.

As a part of the admission process, the applicant has to undergo a national accepted management qualifying exam. I appeared for CAT, MAT and IIFT. I also decided to undergo a crash course of entrance exam preparation before the exams. Basis my MAT score, I was shortlisted in JIMS. The further process involved a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. Initially, I was worried about the interview round but when I entered the room, it appeared more like an interaction round. I got to know more about JIMS and the panel got to know more about my dreams, aspirations and interests. The result was declared and there my journey at JIMS started. The college timings are from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. We have four lectures in a day, each of one-and-a-half hour each. We have a break after every lecture. For our free time, we have a cafeteria on campus, well-equipped library with various e-resources and various student-driven clubs and societies.

The institute also organises regular seminars and workshops facilitated by industry leaders to help students become a part of the corporate network.

Apart from the regular curriculum, there are various events organised on the campus such as innovation day, sports meet, festival celebrations and annual fests. I am an active participant in all these events. Within this one year of the journey, I have evolved as a confident and more expressive person. I am more interactive than before. That’s what makes me feel good being a part of this college. I wish to grab a good placement from the college in a reputed company.

In future, I aspire to be an instrumental part of a reputed company where I can showcase my skills and handle the key responsibilities of the company.
