I think the pandemic situation made us better managers than any other book, says Hritika

A master’s degree from a well-known college like Vivekanand Education Society’s Business School was indeed a perfect stepping stone towards my career in the field of finance. I chose this college as it is one of the best colleges in Mumbai which provides good education along with good placement opportunities. I decided to go with VES Business School as I referred all the alumni’s responses and they were satisfying and convincing

I was always keen on understanding how companies make those heavy transactions within minutes while the huge amount of money is swirling around in several industries. My interests encouraged me to pursue my early education in the field of commerce thereby turning it into my career.

To augment my understanding of asset management, financial markets and administration I realised I need to pursue higher education in the financial field. I was sure that a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) will help me to achieve this goal and expand my knowledge pertaining to my interests in finance. It was an ideal path for me to grow my theoretical, practical & professional skillset tagged with exposure to business operations.

I was successful in clearing the personal interview for the admission process of VES B School. Along with it, I scored 91.05 percentile in MAH CET. I was clear from the start itself that I wanted to focus on one entrance exam and I wanted a good score in order to be a part of a good college and T.I.M.E. helped me in the whole journey. I focused on two colleges namely, MET and VES Business School and I was successful in cracking admissions in both the colleges.

I was clear from the start itself that I wanted to focus on one entrance exam and I wanted a good score in order to be a part of a good college and T.I.M.E. helped me in the whole journey.

It was actually a tough time for our batch as it was a year of Pandemic. It was actually a challenge for all of us to prove ourselves right for the admissions and other opportunities. 2020 was indeed the worst year as we all were fighting with Covid-19. The education system was not running properly and we as a student faced a lot of problems during the pandemic situation as it was all new and unexpected to us. But I think that tough time made all of us very strong as a person and we became more passionate.

As this past year of our journey went online, spending time in college and enjoying the college days remained a dream for me. I was so excited before starting with the course to become a part of VES Business School and to contribute towards every single event and make my college proud but this online learning came out of the syllabus.

But I think even this pandemic didn't stop our college and the students from enjoying all the college fun. Online learning, online events and even online bonding with professors and with classmates made this journey a little different yet exciting and challenging. I almost liked all the classes as our professors were trying really their best to cope up with this new online world. I am sure it was hard for them more than what it was to us.

Along with the lectures I also enjoyed every event we conducted online. We all tried hard and gave our best for conducting events online and I think this situation made us better managers than any other book. I am currently the head of CSR cell and along with it I am one of the members of the finance cell. This opportunity made me a confident and social person. This post-graduation college journey made me a better person than I was before. I grew up as an individual during the entire period.

If given a chance I would like to complete my CA degree as I left it incomplete in the past.

I think I am very open to whatever opportunities the future may hold, especially within my interest and field. I pride myself in being flexible and adaptable. I think the best way of planning for the future is to make the most of the present.

A few of my future goals include leading a finance team. I am sure I can become a good manager and a good leader. I would like to contribute my best towards the company and the people I will be working for. My everyday goal would be to become a better person than the person I was yesterday. If given a choice I would like to go abroad for more professional opportunities and challenges. I want to be financially independent and stable. But at the end, my ultimate goal will remain to be happy and satisfied with what I am doing because I want to enjoy my work
