MBA Entrance Exams: Important Dates 2026-2027

MBA entrance exam dates of national level exams have been announced and registration process has started. Candidates must make sure that they appear for any of the following entrance exams to be eligible for admission to full time MBA programmes  (2027-2029 batch).

 MBA Colleges in India: Admission Process & Selection Criteria

The first name that comes to one’s mind viz. a top MBA colleges in India is the Indian Institutes of Management or IIMs. The top ranked MBA institute has 22 campuses and the five top - IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode - are the most sought after. Every year over two lakh MBA aspirants appear in CAT - the common entrance test conducted by the IIM to pursue MBA/PGDM/PGP programmes. The admission procedure of the IIMs includes CAT exam and WAT/PI.

Those planning to pursue full time MBA from the IIMs must apply for the CAT 2026. Application process is underway and the last date to apply is September 15, 2026. Having a valid CAT score is mandatory for IIM MBA admission.

IIM admission is based on CAT score. The IIMs screen test takers on the basis of their exam score and academic record. Category-wise CAT cut off percentiles are fixed for each IIM for shortlisting candidates. Those who meet the eligibility requirement ( CAT cut off) are selected for Written Ability Test (GD/WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection is based on candidate's overall performance on various parameters such as academics, CAT exam, /WAT-PI, work experience.

CAT 2026 application form will be released in the first week of August 2026. CAT 2026 registration dates will be announced in the last week of July through an official notification.

Q:   Are 6 months enough to prepare for SNAP?

Yes, six months are enough to prepare for SNAP exam. Candidates should start preparation by June to be well prepared by December, the exam month.

Q:   Will the application fees be refunded if I do not appear for the CMAT exam?
A: 
No, the CMAT registration fees is non-refundable. If they do not appear for the exam they cannot claim refund for the application form. Since, it is mentioned in the exam information brochure that the fee is non-refundable, no requests for refund are entertained by the NTA. The fee will not be refunded to any candidate under any circumstances, which includes errors in the form. Thus, candidates must check eligibility criteria and terms and conditions before applying or the exam. They must also not make mistakes in the form to avoid double form filling and fee payment. Because if they make mistakes in the form they cannot edit it (except for graduation score, test city, photo and signature). They will have to fill a fresh CMAT application form and pay the fee amount again. However, if there is error at the time of fee payment and your money is deducted but the payment is not completed then your money will be refunded by the bank within 5 working days.
Q:   I am preparing for CAT 2026? Do I need to prepare for SNAP 2026 separately?
A: 

Yes, you should prepare for SNAP separately, especially with regard to sample question and mock test practice. Even if you don't cover the syllabus separately, practice SNAP mock test specifically.
