The full form is Bank PO is Bank Probationary Officer. It is one of the most reputed job profiles in the country. The selection process of Bank PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam and interview.

What is Role of Bank PO During Probation Period?

During the probation period, Bank PO is trained to get familiar with the different functions of the various departments as well as the banking operations. The role of Bank PO during Probation Period is given below:

  • Candidates are imparted practical training in different departments like finance, marketing, billing, accounts, and investment. Through this training candidates are made more knowledgeable and experienced at their work
  • The role of Bank PO is issuing chequebooks, ATM cards, and demand Drafts, checking for discrepancies in the accounts, managing all kinds of customer queries, and managing the correction of undue charges
  • Candidates are trained the basics of managerial tasks. They have to perform several tasks like verifying documents, supervising the clerical works, managing the cash balance, etc.
  • Once the probationary period is over, the employees are required to sit for an internal screening as well as a promotion test. On clearing this test they are promoted to scale-2 directly

Salary of Bank PO

The initial in-hand salary package offered to an IBPS Probationary Officer is INR 52,000 to 55,000 with dearness allowances, special allowances, HRA, and other perks. The IBPS PO Gross Salary is around INR 57,000 and after a deduction, the net in hand salary remains around INR 52,000 to 55,000.

The initial in-hand salary of SBI PO ranges between INR 52000- INR 55000 per month with the basic pay of INR 41,960. The Gross compensation received lies between INR 8.20 Lakhs (minimum) to 13.08 lakhs (maximum) per annum. The SBI Probationary Officers are eligible for Lease Rental/ HRA, DA, Medical, CCA and other allowances besides basic pay. The amount varies with the location of the job posting.
