AP SSC examinations have been cancelled due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the State. Read to know more.
AP SSC Exams 2020: The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to cancel the AP Board Class 10 examinations 2020 owing to the circumstances due to Coronavirus Outbreak. The decision was announced by the State Education Minister A Suresh on Saturday evening in a press conference. All the students would be promoted automatically to the next grade, the Minister said. The decision comes three weeks ahead of the scheduled AP SSC exams on July 10. As per the revised BSEAP Time table, AP SSC 2020 exams were scheduled from July 10 to 17.
As many as 6.3 lakh students were to appear for the AP SSC examinations.
The AP SSC Results 2020 can be expected soon by the students. The minister said that they will soon decide on the guidelines to allot grades to the passed SSC students, based on their performance in the periodical assessment tests.

"We've have tried our best to conduct the BSEAP examinations and started making arrangements. But, ultimately we felt that the arrangements may not be adequate as the pandemic was spreading fast across the state. Parents and teachers unions too felt it was not advisable to conduct the exams," said the Education Minister.

Originally, the AP SSC examinations were scheduled in March. However, dates were changed firstly due to the local body elections and then the Coronavirus outbreak.
As per media reports, the minister also said that the AP SSC Inter 1st and 2nd year supplementary and improvement examinations, slated from July 11, were also being cancelled. All those students, who did not qualify in the Intermediate first and second years, would now stand promoted.
Earlier, the state government had decided to hold AP SSC board exams 2020 for 6 papers instead of 11 papers due to the delay because of the Coronavirus lockdown across the nation.
The Education Minister also said a decision would be taken soon on the conduct of various common entrance tests for admission into professional courses.
Andhra Pradesh has so far reported nearly 8,000 COVID-19 cases and 96 deaths, as per the data on June 20, 2020.
