Kerala Board follows a 9-point grading system ranging from A+ to E. This is decided based on a total of 640 marks which includes theory, internal evaluation and practicals. Here, we have discussed regarding Kerala SSLC grading system.

Kerala SSLC grading system is a 9 point grading system. In the Kerala SSLC grading system, those who score 90 percentage and more are awarded with grade A plus. The lowest grade is E, which is given to those who score less than 20 percentage. Students have to score a minimum D plus grade to clear the Kerala SSLC Exam. Those who fail to achieve this have to appear for the SAY (Save A Year) exam. Kerala SSLC marks card does not mention ranks. Instead, it will mention the grades scored for each subject. Kerala SSLC exam 2026 was conducted from March 5 to 30, 2026.

How to calculate CGPA in Kerala SSLC?

The process to calculate CGPA is given below.

  • Add the grade points of each subjects (Total Grade Point - TGP)
  • Multiply the sum by 1.11
  • Percentage = TGP*1.11

Total marks for first language paper 1 and first language paper 2 is 50 each. For English total marks is 100. The IT exam is for 50 marks. The Social Science and Mathematics exam is for 100 marks each. Physics Chemistry and Biology is for 50 marks each.

What are Kerala SSLC Passing Marks?

Kerala SSLC passing marks are decided by the examination authority. To clear the exam, students need to secure 30% in each subject. Students need to secure qualifying marks separately in theory and practical subjects.
