Kerala SSLC valuation is liberal as compared to CBSE. Students can score 100% in Kerala SSLC with proper preparation. They are advised to do regular revision and learn the text books thoroughly. Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty has announced that the Kerala SSLC syllabus 2026 will be reduced by 25 per cent from 2027. The Kerala SSLC textbooks published for the year 2027 will have the reduced syllabus. The board will soon publish the reduced Kerala SSLC syllabus 2027.

Kerala SSLC exam pattern 2027

After knowing the Kerala SSLC syllabus, students need to be aware of the Kerala class 10 exam pattern. The exam pattern will make the students aware of the marking scheme, exam duration, the total number of questions and types of questions asked in the exam. It will help the students to score well in Kerala SSLC result. Students have to score a minimum D plus grade to clear the Kerala SSLC Exam. Those who fail to achieve this have to appear for the SAY (Save A Year) exam. Kerala SSLC marks card does not mention ranks. Instead, it will mention the grades scored for each subject.

Students need to get D+ grade in the Kerala SSLC exam in every subject to clear the Kerala SSLC exam. Those who fail in the SSLC exam can appear for the supplementary exam.

It is considered that Kerala SSLC exam is an easy exam. In 2025, the pass percentage was 99.5 %. Hence it is an easy exam as compared to other 10th board exams. With proper revison, students can easily clear the Kerala 10th exam.

Q:   What are the subjects for the Kerala SSLC exam?
A: 
There are ten subjects for the Kerala SSLC exam. The subjects of the Kerala SSLC exam are First language paper 1, First language paper 2, Second language English Third language Hindi/GK, Social Science, Physics Chemistry Biology Mathematics and Information Technology. Total marks for first language paper 1 and first language paper 2 is 50 each. For English total marks is 100. The IT exam is for 50 marks. The Social Science and Mathematics exam is for 100 marks each. Physics Chemistry and Biology is for 50 marks each.
Q:   What is the grading scheme of the Kerala SSLC exam?
A: 

To get A+ in Kerala SSLC exam, students should get percentage between 90 and 100. Grade position for those students is Outstanding. Percentage between 80-89 is considered as A grade. B+ grade is awarded to those scoring between 70-79 percentage. 60-69 percentage is considered as B grade. 50-59 percentage is considered as C+ grade. 40-49 percentage is considered as C grade. 30-39 percentage is considered as D+ grade. 20-29 percentage is considered as D grade. Less than 20 percent is given E grade.

Q:   What are the total marks of the Kerala SSLC exam?

Total marks for Kerala SSLC exam is 650 marks. Marks allotted for written exam, is 480, internal assessment is 130 marks and 40 marks for IT exam. Those who score 90-100% are awarded with grade A+. If percentage is 80-89, they are given A grade. B+ is given to those scoring 70-79 %. If percentage is 60-69, they are given a B grade.

Kerala board do not release toppers list after the Kerala 10th result. Any score more than 90% is considered as excellent in the Kerala SSLC result.
