Ajeenkya DY Patil University, School of Law selects candidates for LLM programme based on ADYPU AICLAT conducted by the university. Aspirants with a valid score in the university-level entrance exam are further called for a personal interview round. Once the selection process is over, shortlisted aspirants receive an offer letter.
DYPU School of Law offers a one-year LLM course at the PG level. Candidates with a LLB degree or equivalent can apply for the LLM programme. The course is offered in below specialisations:

- Criminal Laws
Aspirants who have passed Class 12, A Level, IB, American Class 12 grade or equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% aggregate in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category) are eligible to apply for Ajeenkya DY Patil University, School of Law BA LLB programme. Both the AP LAWCET and CLAT entrance exam are conducted for admission to the Law schools in India, however, the syllabus for these exams are different on many parameters and candidates should strategise differently for both the exams. AP LAWCET exam has sections including Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Contract Law, Constitution, etc. and the CLAT entrance exam sections include English Language, Legal Aptitude, Mathematics, etc. AP LAWCET does not have mathematics subjects, AP LAWCET exam focus more on regional knowledge. CLAT generally covers the deeper aspects of the particular subject.

Admission to UG and PG courses is based on entrance test conducted by ADYPU. The university conducts ADYPU AICLAT in online mode. Besides, aspirants need to pass entrance test conducted by ADYPU for PhD admission.
Ajeenkya DY Patil University-School of Law offers seats to candidates based on their entrance exam scores. Aspirants applying for a UG or PG courses need to pass ADYPU AICLAT conducted by the university.
