CLAT 2027 Cutoffs for NLUs: Expected Cut-off Rank, Marks, Admission Process

The Consortium of National Law Universities conducts the Common Law Admission Test across the nation to select the candidates for the Law courses offered by NLUs. The NLUs call the candidates for the Counselling process based on their merit list. The marks of the last candidate of their merit list serve as the CLAT cutoff (for that round of Counselling) for that NLU. Each NLU will release their own merit list and cutoff and the candidates will be called based on this merit list.

CLAT Cut-off for NLUs

CLAT 2027 Cut-off for NLUs: The number of applications in the CLAT exam are over 90,000 but the number of seats in the 5-year integrated Law Courses offered by NLUs is around 3,500 only. The Common Law Admission Test is conducted nationwide to select the candidates for the available seats. After the CLAT exam, the candidates are arranged in the order of their merit by each NLU to prepare their merit list after considering various criteria such as the candidate's category, domicile, other reservation claims and the marks of the candidate. Such a merit list is prepared only for those candidates who opted for that NLU. CLAT applications are available till October 31.

The marks of the last selected candidates serve as the CLAT cutoff for that category for that NLU for that round. The Consortium will conduct the CLAT exam in offline mode across the nation. As per the exam schedule, the CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6, 2026. Consortium will release the provisional answer key first and ask the candidates to send objections against the incorrect answers given in it.

The Consortium will prepare a final CLAT answer key and calculate the marks of the candidates based on the final answer key. The CLAT result will be prepared based on the final answer key. The CLAT Cutoff for NLUs will be released by the respective NLU for the candidates who applied to that NLU.

Consortium of NLUs releases CLAT seat allotment lists round-wise, along with category-wise closing ranks for each participating NLU. Candidates should check expected CLAT 2027 cutoff, previous year cut-off trends and NLU-wise closing ranks to know their admission chances and make informed counselling choices.

CLAT 2027 Counselling

Candidates must note that CLAT counselling is completely online. Also, Consortium will send an invitation for CLAT Counselling. That means, if your name comes in list, you should attend

• Register and pay counselling fee
• Choose NLU preferences wisely
• Wait for allotment round
• Once you get seat, choose either Freeze / Float / Exit
