BA LL.B. (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws) is a professional integrated law course which is suitable for students who want to become a lawyer, an advocate, a legal advisory, or want to make a career in law and judiciary. You can pursue this 5 years course right after passing Class XII. You will be glad to know that India's the largest University, i. e. Lovely Professional University has taken an initiative and has relaxed their eligibility criteria due to COVID-19. So, they are offering direct admission in B.A. LL.B. Eligibility Criteria is: Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (any stream) with English or equivalent. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium.
Talking about this course at LPU. My brother has done this course from LPU and is currently doing his internship under a well reputed lawyer in Supreme Court. LPU offers more than 250 programmes where Law is one among them. The School of Law is governed and regulated by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and its curriculum is also provided by BCI and in order to make students top-to-date and the latest trends in the field of law, the School of Law takes initiatives to modify the curriculum as and when need arises. Students have undergone internships at various High Courts, law firms, law chambers, commissions, corporate houses and NGOs.
The Alumni's are working as Judicial officers, Legal practitioners and Corporate advisors and Civil servants. In addition to this, MOOT court sessions are also provided to experience the scenario of courts.
Few of the Salient Features of programme are:
BCI Approved Curriculum: Curriculum is in accordance with Bar Council of India (BCI) norms.
Workshops: Workshops/Seminars on computer applications and client interaction is an important aspect of the curriculum.
Visits: Practical exposure through Moot Courts, District Court and Legal Aid Clinics visits.
Professional Enhancement: In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability.
Competitive Examinations: Curriculum is designed to facilitate students in preparing for various competitive examination.
