Dr. Kiran Bedi to Visit IIBS Bengaluru for PGDM Valedictory Ceremony

Distinguished leaders from public service, industry, technology and academia will address the PGDM Cohort 2026–28 on 1 August 2026

Bengaluru, July 2026: For young management students, some lessons are learned in classrooms, while others come from meeting people whose lives have demonstrated courage, discipline and responsibility.

Students of the PGDM Cohort 2026–28 at the International Institute of Business Studies, Bengaluru, will experience one such moment on 1 August 2026 when Dr. Kiran Bedi visits the IIBS Bengaluru Airport Campus as the Chief Guest for the Management Orientation Month Valedictory Ceremony.

The event, which begins at 3:00 PM, will conclude a month-long orientation journey designed to introduce students to management learning, teamwork, communication, professional discipline and leadership.

Dr. Kiran Bedi’s presence will make the ceremony especially significant for the new cohort. India’s first woman IPS officer, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, former Civilian Police Adviser to the United Nations and author of Fearless Governance, Dr. Bedi has spent decades demonstrating how conviction, integrity and disciplined action can transform institutions and communities.

The interaction will give students an opportunity to hear real experiences from a life devoted to public service and institutional reform. For up-and-coming managers, the session will provide a richer grasp of leadership as a responsibility that requires courage, accountability and a clear sense of purpose.

The ceremony will be held under the guidance of Dr. Jay Prakash, Founder and Chairman of the IIBS Group of Institutions, who will grace the occasion as the Chief Patron.

Dr. Jay Prakash has guided the institution with a vision to connect management education with practical learning, industry exposure and leadership development. His presence will add an important academic perspective to a gathering that brings together experience from public administration, corporate leadership and emerging technology.

The programme will also welcome two accomplished professionals from the industry and technology sectors.

 Mr. Jeevanandam Kumerasadasan, National Category Head at BigBasket, will bring insights from the fast-moving world of retail, consumer behaviour and category leadership. His professional experience will help students understand how businesses respond to changing markets, customer expectations and operational challenges.

Mr. Uppathi Sai Sreekar, Founder and CEO of SmartED and Sophyra AI, will represent the growing influence of artificial intelligence, digital innovation and entrepreneurship. His participation will introduce students to the opportunities and responsibilities created by rapidly evolving technologies.

Together, the distinguished guests will present different but connected dimensions of leadership. Dr. Kiran Bedi will bring the strength of public service and courageous decision-making. Mr. Kumerasadasan will share the corporate leadership perspective and Mr. Sai Sreekar will share the perspective of innovation, entrepreneurship and the future of tech-enabled business.

The Management Orientation Month has prepared students for the academic and professional demands of the two-year PGDM programme. The students attended academic sessions, corporate interactions, communication exercises, team building activities and experiential learning programmes during the month.

These experiences encouraged students to step beyond familiar boundaries, work with diverse teams and develop greater confidence in their abilities. The programme also introduced them to the discipline, responsibility and collaborative spirit expected in management education and corporate life.
