BIBS is affiliated with Vidyasagar University, a state government university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by AICTE.

While BIBS itself doesn't hold AICTE approval, the MBA programme offered in collaboration with Vidyasagar University does benefit from AICTE approva

Bengal Institute of Business Studies is a private institute. It is located in Kolkata West Bengal founded in 2008. The institute offers various courses in affiliation with Vidyasagar University. BIBS Kolkata is accredited by NAAC. The institution has been by UGC, MHRD and the Govt of India.
