BIT combines your scores using this formula: (Written Score * 0.4) + (Interview Score * 0.6). You need at least 38 weighted marks in total to qualify.

VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) and BIT (Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra) are established private engineering colleges in India, albeit they hold different professional reputations and tastes. VIT, has a larger campus, bigger infrastructure, is equipped with a modern look, recognised for their placement in IT and core branch engineering, and has many international collaborations. The VIT Vellore campus has a strong coding background, impressive placement records (average placement of around INR 8 -9 LPA, the highest of around 75 LPA in CSE), and a wider exposure to clients because of the vastness of systems and diversity of students. BIT Mesra has been operational for longer and probably has better brand value for a core engineering branch for students in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc., better-than-average research culture, and better alumni network. Their placement was average by recent standards (average placement of around INR 10-12 LPA, good campus life but not as lively as VIT.
