No, you cannot become a lawyer without a Law degree. You mandatorily need to obtain degrees such as BA/BCom/BSc/BBA LLB or LLB in order to be a lawyer in India. To become a lawyer, one must first complete three-year or five-year LLB from a recognised university and possess degree certificate. Then, they must enrol themselves in local Bar Council of the concerned state and enrolled as an advocate. Within two years of the enrolment, they must appear and clear AIBE in order to be eligible to practise anywhere in India.

An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for a three year’s degree programme in law leading to conferment of LL.B degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted by a University whose degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.
The minimum percentage of marks not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC/ST/ Differently Abled applicants, to be obtained for the qualifying examination for three year’s LL.B. Course, for the purpose of applying for and getting admitted into a law degree programme of any recognized university.
Note: The candidate who have obtained 10+2 Standard Certificate or Bachelor/Master Degree though Open School/Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission in LL.B.(Professional)3-year programme.
