Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages (if any) and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance Test marks. For B.A./B.Com LL.B. Merit is to be determined on the basis of score for which the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. In every semester in each paper/practical, as the case may be, maximum marks shall be 100, while minimum pass marks in each paper shall be 36% individually and 45% in aggregate i.e. total of all papers, as the case may be, of that semester taken altogether. Assuming that your board has set the passing marks at 33, then unfortunately, you have failed the exam as you have scored 32 marks which is less than the passing marks.

The minimum cut off scores for PU LLB 2024 entrance exam is 20 out of 100 for General/ OBC category, and 15 out of 100 marks for SC/ ST/ PwD categories.Have passed FA/F.Sc./ 'A' Level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) conducted by HEC with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. The candidates must provide equivalence/verification of their academic documents from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) at the time of admission.

The Department of Law at Panjab University has not released the 2023 placement statistics. However, the University has released the NIRF report 2023 for the Law department. As per the report, 210 LLB and 1 LLM students were placed during the Department of Law Panjab University placements 2022. The median package offered to LLB and LLM students was INR 2.30 LPA and INR 8 LPA, respectively. A fluctuating trend was recorded in the median package offered to LLB students over the past three years (2020 to 2022). Likewise, the median package for LLM has been fluctuating over the past three years.

Department of Law Punjab University offers a three-year LLB course. The seat intake for the LLB course is 304. Candidates wishing to secure a seat must participate in the admission process 2025. Candidates must fill out the application form on the official website of the univervsity and appear for the PU-LLB entrance test to stand a chance to get in their desired course. 

SC students who belong to Punjab and whose annual family income is below ?2.5 Lacs are eligible for the scheme.

Scholarships for pupils with disabilities – The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation of India provides a scholarship for students with disabilities.

Mrs. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship – Candidates in the field of History, Economics, and Political Science between 30 to 40 years can apply for this scholarship as per the government of India. The applicants should have an academic record of 60 % and above.

National E-scholarships from the government of India – Any candidate of the university can log in to the National E-Scholarship portal of the government of India.

Out of 260 LLB graduates 210 were placed successfully during 2022 placements. Earlier, 197 out of 280 LLB students were placed during 2021 placements. From 2020 to 2022, the number of LLB students placed indicates an improving trend. Yes, a candidate can get a seat at Punjab University in Department of Law with percentage of 86 in LL.B in PU LLB Entrance Exam. Because the cut off is 65 percentage in LL.B. Minimum sixty five percentage in B.A. LLB is good score and have more chances of getting better opportunities than one who scored less. You can get good Law College on India if you can score well in B.A. LLB, any how entrance exam will be considered for admission but still it adds up value.
