GIBS Business School has an extensive and multi-tiered evaluation procedure for applicants submitting CAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, XAT, ATMA and Karnataka PGCET scores. This procedure has been created to help assess a candidate's academic ability, managerial skills and overall personality. The Evaluation Procedure Includes the Following: Eligibility Requirement To be eligible to apply, candidates must have earned a POSITIVE and RECOGNIZED bachelor's degree WITH the minimum required percentage (Typically, a minimum of 50%) or a provisional application may be submitted by candidates in their final year of study). Length of Validity of Entrance Exam Scores GIBS gives full consideration to incoming applicants from entrance exams for the following: CAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, XAT, ATMA and Karnataka PGCET. The entrance exam score must reflect the current admission cycle for acceptance. Evaluation of Subjective Areas of Entrance Exam Scores The admission committee at GIBS evaluates percentile or composite scores from entrance exams based upon the applicant's scores for: quantitative ability, logical reasoning, verbal ability and data interpretation. Applicants achieving high scores in these areas have a greater probability of being short listed for admission. Evaluation of Academic HistoryCandidates' academic performance will be reviewed to include performance in Grade 10, Grade 12 and as well as their completed undergraduate degree. Candidates who have performed consistently at a higher level than their peers will be viewed as being a strong candidate for admission to GIBS. Short List Process After evaluating a candidate's entrance exam score and academic record eligibility, the admissions committee will short list candidates who qualify to proceed to the next stage of the evaluation process. Group Discussion (GD)Once a candidate has been short listed, he or she will then be required to participate in a GD. The GD will be used to assess the candidate's ability to communicate effectively, articulate his/her thoughts clearly, work well in a team environment, demonstrate his/her capacity for leadership and demonstrate knowledge of current business issues.Case Study Evaluation:This evaluation tool may be used on some applicants as a way to assess analytical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and decision making skills.Personal Interview (PI):In the PI, the interviewer assesses each applicant's career aspirations, understanding of the subject area, confidence level, overall personality (including motivation to pursue their educational goal), and how well they fit in with the programme.Experience Consideration:Some applicants may receive additional credit for their work experience that is applicable to their area of study or the programme of interest.SOP Review:The SOP may also help to determine the clarity of an applicant's career goals and how they fit with that particular programme.Communication and Presentation:All applicants will be assessed on their fluency in English during all aspects of the assessment process (Group Discussion and PI).Final Composite Score Development:Each applicant will have a total score created by combining the following components:Exam score with an admissions test or other testsAcademic performance (GPA/Honours/Grades etc.)Composite Group Discussion/Case Study PerformancePersonal Interview PerformanceExperience with a jobOverall Selection Criteria Based on Merit:All candidates who meet the requirements of overall merit are eligible for admission to the AIU.Provisional Admission Offer: Candidates selected will receive an official offer of admission to the AIU; however, the offers are subject to verifying the candidate's documents and payment of registration fee prior to granting final approval.
