It has supportive faculty, a peaceful campus, and a scope to grow.
Placements: Around 60% of students get placed in this course. I don't know exactly to be honest. Students get placed in government, public policy, non-profit, and media companies. 30% of students got internships. Roles like a lawyer, advocating and campaigning for political and social cases, government services, property, and paperwork are offered here.
Infrastructure: The political science department at our college has the basic but functional infrastructure to support academic activities. The old classrooms are traditional and the new classrooms are modern and they have big screens and everything. There are 3-4 hostels for both boys and girls, a gym for both. It has a sports court and fields to play.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty good. They are strict and they try their best to explain. They explain in 2-3 languages for us and they use simple words. Exams are too difficult and if we fail in college tests or internal exams, then we fail and we can't pass. If we want to pass, we have to attend every class every day, and we have to study hard. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I used to hate this subject but after attending some of the classes I like studying about all of this stuff like public administration and international relations.

I advise opting for this course. This college has a reputation among affiliate colleges under GU.
Placements: About 4-5% of students choose this course. The salary package offer depends upon the students in which profession they will choose. Students get placed in many software companies, hardware companies and study centres. About 70-80% of the students from our course got an internship. The role offered in our course is a teacher.
Infrastructure: The department of our college is very good. It contains highly improved labs, Wi-Fi connectivity, digital classrooms and a very good library. The hostel facility is good. The food provided is healthy. There is a canteen also. Medical facilities and sports are very good in this institution.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. All the teachers are PhD holders from reputed colleges and universities. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are hard. The pass percentage of the students is 70-80%.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am very passionate about this course. The practical teaching should be more improved in our course.

If anyone wants to pass or want to get a degree, they can take admission.
Placements: There are no placements, but you can go for higher studies. Especially in the botany department, there is a field trip every year, and teachers take all the major students to new places. The college is affiliated with Gauhati University. You can do a bachelor's degree in science, arts and commerce too, which is fun.
Infrastructure: The canteen is good, but there are no medical facilities. There are a big football ground, a basketball court and a badminton court. Classrooms are poor in both science and art blocks, and the bathrooms are also not clean. Old hostels are not renewed for years.
Faculty: The course I have chosen is research-oriented. If you are willing to do higher studies, then you can apply for M.Sc in botany, M.Sc in microbiology, M.Sc in biotechnology, etc. Teachers are highly qualified. Especially in our botany department, teachers are helpful and active.
Other: The campus is not that big, but it looks pretty. The college is in the main town of Goalpara city. Scholarships are provided to students, but the college needs a lot of improvement. There is only one event every year, i.e., college week.

Review of Goalpara College.
Placements: About 20% of the students got placed in our course. It is a government college, so there is no salary package system in our course. There is no recruitment by private companies. None of the students got an internship from our course. Roles are not offered to anybody from any companies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good enough to study, but the washrooms are dirty. Library facilities are poor, and labs are less developed. There is no hostel facility at our college. Students come from far away stay at PG, or they travel long distance daily. There is no mess and canteen, and medical facilities are poor. Sports and games are good enough in our college.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, but their teaching skills are poor. Teachers are helpful sometimes. There are many types of curriculum activities in our college, but all of them are worthless. The future of each student is in their own hand.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am good at it. Everything needs to be improved. There are lots of events like Saraswati Puja, freshers event, Independence day celebration, etc.

Like many other colleges, Goalpara College is one of the best colleges in Assam.
Placements: Students with above 6 grade marks easily get placement. The highest salary is above 1 lakh per month, the lowest is Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, and the average salary is Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000. Top recruiting companies for this course offer placements at secondary schools (i.e., high school teachers) or as professors after master’s degrees, depending on the course or specialization. Students with above 60% receive internships from this course in different types of schools according to their specialization. The top roles offered in our course are Professor and Teacher.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided are quite good as per government standards. The infrastructure, including labs, classrooms, and the library, is quite satisfying and improves year by year. Wi-Fi, canteen, banks, and a gym centre are also available inside the college campus. There is also a huge playing field where sports and games like volleyball, basketball, etc., are played.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students fit for the industry. The semester exams are of a moderate level in this college. The pass percentage is above 94.5%.
Other: I took admission in the four-year B.Sc.B.Ed. Integrated course. The best thing about my course is that it gives us dual degrees at the same time, and it is an updated and vast version of dual degrees. Till now, the overall course is quite good. Different types of events and extracurricular activities are actively conducted in our college. The campus crowd is well managed due to different timetables for students of each course. Scholarships might be available.

Worth it for only a degree, any kind of external benefit.
Placements: This college has excellent management, and the teachers are well-prepared. The placement rate is 60-70%, with the highest package being 8 LPA and the lowest package at 2.5 LPA. The companies recruiting include ICICI, HDFC, and other banks, particularly for business management and accounting positions. We have a nice management.
Infrastructure: However, there is no Wi-Fi available for students; only faculty and staff have access. Students can use the computer labs and the library. While classrooms are generally well-managed, the boys’ and girls’ hostels do not have the same facilities. Additionally, medical facilities are not provided. On a positive note, sports and games are encouraged, with various options available, such as volleyball, cricket, handball, and basketball.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, providing quality education. However, during the second, fourth, and sixth semesters, numerous notifications disrupt the course completion, leading to incomplete syllabi. Teachers inform students about these notifications before the semester starts.
Other: My dream is to become a CA, which is a challenging aspiration. That is why I am pursuing a B.Com with accounting as my major subject. Unfortunately, not all students attend class regularly. Many leave during lectures to spend time outside with their friends or partners, which is a major concern as it indicates a lack of seriousness about their future.
