A short review of Government Law College, Kozhikode.
Placements: A number of companies and firms are conducting interviews in our college, and students are getting placed, but the percentage is low. You must take initiatives for where you want to be, and it is absolutely up to you. Placement cells are becoming active. I think in one or two years, students will get placements in top companies and law firms with the help of the college.
Infrastructure: I am not going to say it is excellent a lot to improve, but good infrastructure and facilities to grow as a Law student. Wi-Fi is available, the oldest library with law, literature, business-related books, classrooms are well-equipped with CCTV cameras and directly connected to authorities, and a good sports room, moot room, and other essential facilities. The college hostel is liberal and 24/7 open, hygienic, with 3 meals and evening snacks with tea, and a separate canteen is available.
Faculty: There are teachers who are qualified, knowledgeable, and approachable. Now GLCK has fewer permanent faculty members than guest faculty members. This course is curriculum-relevant, and a student can only be industry-ready if he or she is ready to take initiatives and work hard. There are 10 semesters, and exams are held every six months, and in one month results will be published. There is a high percentage of passing.
Other: I was passionate about Law and that lead to choose this course. There are a lot of opportunities after LL.B., Corporate or litigation, legal advisory, or you can do an MBA, LL.M., etc. I think the course would be great if it concentrate in practical more than theoretical bookish knowledge. There are a lot of events conducted by the college union, and the campus crowd is below 2000, and regarding scholarships, a number of scholarships are provided by the government, like Egrantz. College has multiple societies, including moot and management, that are very active and promote the students' academic life.

I love college but no good placements , really good infrastructure with well qualified faculties.
Placements: Admission is provided by the Kerala law entrance exam. GLCK is 1 out of 4 government law colleges in Kerala with 60 seats in BBA LL.B. and 60 seats in Unitary LL.B. Placements are comparatively low when compared to national law colleges. Last year, 2 students got placements in a corporate firm.
Infrastructure: We have 3 floors of library, 24-hour Wi-Fi, and free access to resources like Manupatra, etc. The hostel is hygienic. There are hostel grounds for outdoor games and 2 more grounds in college including a separate badminton court. It has a vast sports room. We have a psychology center and also psychology classes semester-wise. In the hostel, daily we get varieties of Kerala food and Kozhikode's biryani weekly. The college is open 24 hours and we can play badminton at any time. The library time is from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. Internal exams are on time. Presentation and moot courts are conducted regularly. I remember how my faculty members helped me to overcome my fear of providing my first presentation. They encourage us to participate in our extracurricular activities.
Other: I chose law because I heard that lawyers are the voice of the voiceless. We can imagine now how vice polluted is our campus. Our arts, sports, law, and management fests are organised and they are of different levels of entertainment. It conducts all extracurricular activities. Intra-management fests and intra-law fests are moments to show our power. We can create a lot of connectivity with honorable people.

Not good. But I recommend.
Placements: There are 140 students in my college who passed the Kerala Law Entrance Examination. It's a government college, so there are no fees for tuition or anything else. All internship opportunities must be discovered by individual students themselves. It's not as good as what is portrayed on social media.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is too bad. It’s congested and irritating. A lot of modifications are required in classrooms. There are no proper tables and chairs. No proper electricity. There is a big library, which is a good thing. Cleanliness is missing. The canteen facilities are also not satisfactory.
Faculty: Teachers are also not that good. There is no proper guidance from their side. They are not providing proper study materials and are not experienced. Teaching is also bad, and I can't understand it. It is a professional course, but we didn't receive professional training from here.
Other: Actual advocacy is my passion, and that's why I chose this college. I’m not financially able to pay high amounts for college fees, so I cracked the entrance and got admitted here. All other events, day celebrations, and extracurricular activities are good.

Review of Government Law College, Kozhikode.
Placements: A few students of previous batches have been placed in in-house offices. With an average package of 1 Lac. Internship opportunities are to be fetched by the students themselves. Teachers are helpful in giving you guidance regarding various opportunities.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, with one of the best libraries in Kerala. New building facilities are on their way. Wi-Fi is available. The sports room is available and active. Hostel is available only after the 1st year. PGs are abundant. Both men's and women's hostels are close to the college campus.
Faculty: Qualified and professional faculty members are there. The college has a lot of faculty members. However, there won't be classes throughout the day. Syllabus and exams are based on the University of Calicut's guidelines. Exams used to be delayed, but now they are being conducted on time.
Other: Extracurricular activities and moot court participation are all good.

Satisfied with the faculty and students. Infrastructure has to improve.
Placements: Recruitment cells are only getting active gradually, but there have been good recruitments recently. There are mandatory internship spells that students have to complete (10 spells for the 5-year course and 6 for the 3-year course, i.e., one per semester). Students will have to make the internship applications themselves, as the college will have no involvement in it.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not available for first-year students, who will have to opt for paying guests or outside hostels for that year. There is free Wi-Fi, and the classrooms are okay. The library facilities are pretty good, with plenty of academic books available as well as a good amount of non-academic literature.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exams are not that difficult. The curriculum makes you somewhat industry-ready, with moot courts and other competitions outside the curriculum helping with that (plenty of opportunities come your way). The law curriculum is mostly relevant, but the BBA courses are questionable.
Other: There is no spoon-feeding at all, and no textbooks are provided (accessibility to the library solves that issue). Your studies depend on your efforts and your efforts only. Events and campus crowd are great, and your connectivity depends on your social skills. There are lots of extracurricular activities like competitions and volunteering opportunities.

You’ll get to know life through these 5 years of experience in this college.
Placements: About college placements, I would say don’t get too focused on college for that sake. It’s really meager there. So if you’re looking for colleges with high placements, GLCK is not your cup of tea, I would say. But I’ll assure you that if you utilize the time there, you’ll definitely get into some higher-level job opportunities out there.
Infrastructure: The college campus might not be very attractive, but the people there make it attractive. There’s Wi-Fi throughout the college. And about the library, it’s the asset of that college. The hostel facilities will be available according to your hometown distance. But the hostel is pretty good. And very cheap. The canteen is undergoing renovation, so it’ll be getting better soon. And there is, of course, sports, but not on a huge level.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members of our college are very much dedicated to teaching the students. And the experience of teaching makes them more interesting. And they can be helpful when you get into any competitions outside, like intercollege fests and all. They are super supportive. And we can definitely go to them for help in the educational happenings.
Other: I am BBA LL.B. 2023-28 batch. About choosing this course, it was my dream to be a lawyer since 6th standard. Don’t ask me why; I think I was destined to study this.
