The latest cutoff for General nursing and midwifery(GNM) at Government Medical College,Jammu is minimum of 40 percent in 12th boards(Science/Arts+ English),English being a compulsory subject.Moreover,the candidate should be a female with age in range of 17 to 35 years.

Government Medical College, Jammu has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

| GNM | Candidate must be 17 years old and not more than 35 years old when applying for admission. However, for Lateral entry to GNM courses, candidates having Diploma in FMPHW /MMPHW/ANM course registered with Jammu & Kashmir Paramedical Nursing Council be eligible for GNM course and there will be no age bar for such candidates. Registered ANM with 40% marks and medically fit. |
| UG Diploma | Must not have crossed maximum age 35 years old when applying for admission |
| MBBS | Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained mentioned percentage taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. In respect of PwBD candidates as per NMC and DCI Regulations, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for theNational Eligibility Cum Entrance Test'. However, this has been a subject matter of challenge before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, Hon'ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench, and Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur The lower age limit is 17 years when applying for admission.
