GIMS Roorkee offers various undergraduate programmes such as BBA, BSc, BLib, BCom in specialisations such as Mass Communication and Journalism, Fashion Designing, Animation, Home Science and Arts. Beside this, the Institute offers  postgraduate programmes such as MCom, MA, PG Diploma for 1-2 years for specialisations such as Library Science, Mass Communication, Advertising and Journalism. Furthermore, the Institute offers 1-year Diplomas in specialisations such as Hotel Management, Architecture, Multimedia, Event Management and Operation Theater Technology among others.

GIMD Roorkee conducts admission on merit. Candidates must have a minimum eligibility criteria of qualifying in Class 12 from a recognised board. The admission process is conducted through the online mode and requires registration to begin with the candidature. Candidates must visit the official page and fill out the Goolge form available for the counselling process. To seek admission in a PG programme, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in the previous UG programme. 

When you join a BDes programme, you learn about the fundamental concepts of Design in the first year. You would not be expected to have any previous knowledge or background in the field of Design. In many colleges the first semester is common for all BDes specialisations. You would learn subjects like Introduction to Design,  Elements of Design,  Creative Visualization Techniques,  Design Drawing,  Design Thinking,  Principles of Design,  Physical Ergonomics and Rendering & Illustration.

The B Designing course syllabus is not the same for all colleges and differs on the basis of the specialisation and the college where you plan to pursue the course. Each design institute has certain curriculum guidelines to adhere to; while some core subjects might be similar, the rest of the program-specific electives vary, along with industrial workshops, project work, and design studio lessons.
