HIT Haldia and Narula Institute of technology both have decent reputations for the CSE branch but HIT Haldia generally has a slight edge in terms of infrastructure, campus facilities, and placement opportunities. HIT Haldia has tie-ups with more core companies and offers better industry exposure whereas Narula is good for location advantage being in Kolkata. If placements and campus life are priorities HIT Haldia might be a better choice but if you prefer being in a metro city Narula can be considered.

To gain admission to the M.Tech programme at Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT), candidates must meet the eligibility requirements set by the institute. Applicants should hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised university, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Admission is primarily based on performance in the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). Candidates with valid GATE scores are given preference during the selection process. However, non-GATE candidates may also be considered based on their academic performance, and the institute may conduct an entrance test or offer seats through a management quota if necessary. Haldia Institute of Technology offers M.Tech programs in various specializations, such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The admission process usually starts in May or June. Interested candidates need to apply through the institute's official website or the MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology) admission portal, as HIT is affiliated with MAKAUT. Applicants must submit required documents, including academic transcripts and a GATE scorecard, and complete any further steps like counseling or interviews if required. For those who secure admission, the M.Tech programme at HIT provides advanced academic and research opportunities with state-of-the-art infrastructure, industry collaborations, and strong placement support. To ensure a smooth application process and stay updated with deadlines, candidates are encouraged to visit the official HIT website or contact their admissions office directly.
