The 2023 KCET cutoff for the BE course at HKBK College of Engineering ranges from 40,000 to 160,000 for general category students and 80,000 to 130,000 for SC category students. The overall KCET cutoff for the college is between 37,408 and 175,179 rank. Additionally, to be eligible, students need a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university. For Karnataka students in the SC/ST and Category – I, the minimum aggregate is 45%.

Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual Citizens), NRIs, can apply to this college under the category of International students. PIO and OCI cardholders will only be considered equal to NRI students as far as education is concerned. The students can apply online for the provisional admission letter in the opted programme by paying the registration fee of $500 along with the submission of necessary documents. 

On a per-share basis, the hostel fees (which include the mess fees) is Rs. 50,000 per year, and the caution deposit is Rs.
The first Rs.25,000 is due in the odd semester, while the remaining Rs.25,000 is due in the even semester.

HKBK offers 10% seat reservations for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of society. It also offers 15% reservations for the Non-Regional Indians (NRIs) and Foreign students. It also offers direct admission for students who have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board.  Apart from that, only KCET is a criteria.
