Experience at Idea World College.
Placements: The college provides 100% placement assistance. The seniors I know of have been placed at top companies like Zara, Calvin Klein, etc. The average package our course offers is about 5 LPA. The top recruiters for my course are Raymond, Calvin Klein, and Zara. All of the students from my batch got an internship in several small fashion start-ups. It is hard to keep a tab. I interned at a Kashmir textile start-up.
Infrastructure: For the students, there are high-end software with fully equipped labs. What I love the most is the textile lab. The sewing lab is equipped with great machineries too, however I am not a big fan. I am more into styling than the process for bringing the style to life. Here, we do not have a hostel or canteen. Though the counsellors provide us with adequate information regarding the PGs around the college. First aid care is available with basic medicine. At Idea, we participate more at events and fashion shows than sports.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful. They teach us by the book, as well as help us through real-life experiences. I have designed a few dresses under the brand of Thomas Abraham. It has been a very proud moment for me. The course curriculum is relevant. But I would say, as a fashion student, I learn more by being in the field than being the classroom. The exams are difficult at times. Mostly, I get by with studying overnight for a week. The teachers are so helpful during those times that I never need to worry.
