Yes, IIT Ropar has eight hostels,  six for boys (Satlej, Beas, Sindhu, Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) and two for girls (Ravi, Venus) to house approximately 3000 students. IIT Ropar is a residential institute; therefore, all the students are required to reside in the hostels. All the hostel rooms are spacious and have all the basic furniture, such as a study table, chair, cupboard, single bed, etc. The rooms are allocated on a single and double occupancy basis. IIT Ropar hostels consist of dedicated rooms for recreational activities, providing a holistic environment for the students.

IIT Ropar hostel fees vary for different courses. For last year, the semester-wise hostel fee for B.Sc. and B.Ed courses was INR 31500. This is valid for new admissions only till December last year. The Nalanda Library of IIT Ropar acts as a knowledge hub for academic and research purposes. It has a vast collection of books, journals, theses, etc. Apart from books of study and reading material prescribed for courses, the library has a collection of research monographs, reports, dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. The library facilitates access to over 13,000 electronic journals from 30 publishers through its participation in the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative by the Government of India. The library is well furnished with comfortable tables and chairs, which are suitable for long working hours. The IIT Ropar library is automated using the Koha Integrated Library Management System.
