A solid launchpad, my honest take on IMI Kolkata PGDM.
Placements: The placement numbers speak for themselves. Average CTC is 13.69 LPA, Median CTC is 12.54 LPA, and the highest CTC is 43.36 LPA. Recruiters such as Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, HDFC Life, ICICI, Reliance, ITC, and Gartner appear alongside 100+ others. SIP opportunities are plentiful too, which really ease the placement pressure.
Infrastructure: The campus is spacious, with hostel rooms suited to different needs, a decent mess, a cafeteria, a gym, and courts for table tennis and badminton. The auditorium hosts most events. The library is well-stocked with almost every important book and magazine you would need. Also, there's an on-campus clinic for basic medical support.
Faculty: Classes are regular and genuinely engaging, with frequent guest lectures from distinguished industry experts and authorities. Along with useful seminars and workshops that add real-world context. The program is AICTE-approved and holds AIU equivalence, so credentials are never a worry. Exams are structured fairly.
Other: I personally chose IMI Kolkata for its industry connect and campus life. The best part is business accelerator programs and startup incubators for entrepreneurial folks. There's a strict anti-ragging committee too, so safety isn't an afterthought. Would love to see more extracurricular fests, honestly.

Our college has good infrastructure, faculty, and facilities, but placements are decent.
Placements: The placement percentage is about 95-100%. The highest salary package offered is about 20 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The average salary package offered is about 8 LPA - 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, PWC, ICICI Bank, Marico, and many more. All students got internships. The role offered in marketing mainly sales domain and finance is a tax consultant.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good and hygienic. The infrastructure of the campus is good with a white color. The main building is near the hostel. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. The library and classroom are well-maintained. The hostel food is decent in the mess. There are different committees to solve problems related to anything. There is a volleyball ground, tennis ground, 8-ball pool room, and many more.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful. All teachers are Ph.D. qualified. They have good knowledge of their domain. The teaching quality is excellent. All concepts are clear. The course curriculum is good and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy. There is about 30-40% weightage, and the remaining is assignment, so you can easily pass and get good marks.
Other: This course is equivalent to an MBA. I chose this course to understand the business from all aspects and get good relationships. The course will be more practical and evaluate individuals to make the course better. The event at IMI named Confero is held. There are a lot of guest lectures, sports competitions, and many more.

Unveiling IMI Kolkata: A student's perspective (2024).
Placements: The highest package for 2024 passouts was 20.38 LPA, and the average was 12.02 LPA. Companies like KPMG, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Amazon, Deloitte, EY, LINC, OYO, Coca-Cola, RPSG Group, and many more come to the campus for placement and SIP. The highest stipend for this year's SIP was 1 lac, with the average being Rs 50,500.
Infrastructure: Course: The first month at IMI Kolkata is called the orientation month. Students are welcome to the campus so that they can get accustomed to the rules and regulations and the hostel lifestyle. Preparatory classes are also taken in order to make sure students are ready when the actual course starts. IMI Kolkata is a package that contains the latest industry-oriented curriculum along with a lot of activities that are done to imbibe and sharpen managerial skills in a student. Infrastructure: The B-School is equipped with all modern facilities, including modern classrooms, a modern auditorium, and all other amenities. IMI Kolkata has its own hostel inside the campus, along with the academic building and the RPSG House corporate building. It has different wings for girls and boys and different room types so that students can choose their preferences. The hostel follows a very strict set of rules and regulations to maintain security and prevent mishaps. A doctor is also available on campus; anyone can visit him without paying. Psychologists are also available to take care of the mental wellbeing of students.
Faculty: The course is divided into trimesters. IMI Kolkata keeps changing its curriculum according to the latest industry trends and needs. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced and are always ready to help the students, wherever and whenever they need it. Regarding exams, 30 percent weight is given to the end trimester exam. The rest is divided between a series of assignments, group projects, case studies, and class performance.
Other: A day in the life of an IMI Kolkata PGDM student: As a first-year student, my typical day is filled with a number of exciting and challenging activities. My day begins around 8 AM with a half-hour gym session. After breakfast, classes begin at 9 AM and continue until 12:30 p.m. Following a one-hour break to rejuvenate, have lunch, and chat with friends, classes resume around 1:30 PM. After back-to-back engaging and brainstorming sessions with our esteemed faculty members, we call it a day. In the evening, after enjoying some delicious snacks and fun time with friends, students have a variety of options. Some prefer playing games like cricket, badminton, pool, tennis, and so on, while the others head to their rooms for self-study. Many stay in the lounge for group study or to complete work for their respective clubs or committees. Most of us, being night owls, find our focus and productivity amidst the quiet and calm of the night, completing group assignments, preparing for exams, or fulfilling important duties of clubs and committees while the city sleeps. One of the most enriching experiences has been the Design Thinking for Rural Development course. The initiative, in collaboration with the school of design thinking and Mission Samriddhi, provided us with an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with village panchayats and residents. The primary goal of our visit was to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by the rural community. The hands-on experience not only enriched our understanding but also allowed us to contribute meaningfully to the community.

My journey so far at IMI Kolkata (batch of 2023 - 25).
Placements: I have seen some prominent companies visiting our campus for the placement process, some of them are Gartner, KPMG, ICICI, First Source, Too Yummy etc., they have been offering roles such as associate technology consultant, associate business manager, tax consultant etc. My seniors are being placed quickly as their batch is about to get over, their previous batch was placed 100% in good companies. As for internship our batch is also getting the internship steadily as more than the half of our batch has got the internship in companies like RPSG, ICICI, ORI Past etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is having centralized AC and clean drinking water filter facility at each floor be it hostel or around classrooms, the hostel rooms are cleaned daily by cleaners and you will get a bed, a wardrobe, cupboard, study table with lamp, and AC/fan. There are two mess for veg and non-veg and both are cleaned daily before every meal. In the campus there are basketball and volleyball courts, Table Tennis room, Pool room to play and enjoy in evening. If you're planning to do late night studies with your group the library is open 24/7 with various books and journals from each domain, you will have seamless Wi-Fi connection throughout the campus. The lounge area are having TV connection which you can watch for movie nights and such.
Faculty: The faculty members are graduates from IITs and Iims and will go out of traditional teaching methods to give students the gist of the real life business environment, they will use case studies, research articles, simulations to teach you about topics and clear concepts. There are subjects covering every domain such as OB&HR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Analytics. Exams are held in objective mode through IMI-K portals and the weightage is split in 70/30 where 70 is given on assignments are projects and 30 is on end terms.
Other: The batch size is 189 and students come from different parts of India so the crowd is really diverse and I think it helps a person learn and grow more. The PGDM course which is on par if not above the standard MBA degree provides you with practical knowledge of the industry which one needs when entering this competitive business landscaped. You would not only just study and do assignments but also enjoy in various extra curricular activities by joining various clubs and committees and participating in events like CONFERO which is the flagship event of IMI-K.

Absolutely loving my experience in the college.
Placements: At IMI Kolkata, 100% students get placed in reputed companies with a good CTC and 100% of first-year students get internships through college. For batch 2021-23, the highest package is 14 LPA, the lowest is 8 LPA, the average is 10.65 LPA, and the median is 10.50 LPA. Popular names who come to the campus for recruitment are PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Gartner, Grant Thornton, ICICI Prudential, ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard, Reliance Industries Ltd. , Wipro, Marks Wrigley, Federal Bank, Tata Play, and others.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of classrooms is very good; all classes are being done with PPTs. The library is fully equipped with books and software (Bloomber) for research purposes. The entire campus is Wi-Fi-enabled. There is a cafeteria, pool room, basketball court, volleyball court, and gym available on the campus. A doctor visits the campus every day for 4 hours. The college is very well maintained. The campus is clean and green. The college is in the heart of Kolkata so it is well connected with corporations and public transport. Hostel facilities are provided to all students. There is single-sharing and twin-sharing, and the rooms are spacious. Hostel rooms are equipped with AC and are being cleaned every day by staff. Washing machines are available to wash clothes and laundry services are also available. A microwave and refrigerator are provided. Two canteens are there (one for vegetarians and one for non-vegetarians) with decent-quality food.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college are absolutely brilliant, all from good colleges (mostly from IITs and IIMs). Almost all of them have a Ph.D. and years of work experience in both the teaching and corporate worlds to help the students learn about the latest industry trends. The teachers are very approachable and are available after classes for any doubts. Classes are always very interactive and insightful. The college provides enough industry exposure as it is strategically located in the center of Kolkata. The college offers PGDM courses and exams held on a trimester basis (3 times a year).

Amazing infrastructure along with the quality teachers.
Placements: 100% of our batch was placed. The highest package is 20 Lacs and the lowest is 4 Lacs whereas the average package is 6.5 Lacs. The top companies were JSW, Amazon, Pwc, KPMG etc. Mostly the roles that these companies provided were of consultant and risk advisory.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure with proper Wi-Fi facilities, labs and a library. Hostel food is a decently wide variety of options for veg and non-veg. Both outdoor and indoor sports are available. Although there is no playing ground for football, all the sports can be played on campus.
Faculty: As our batch was covid batch, the exams conducted were an open book and the difficulty level was set accordingly. The teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable and prepare us welp for exams. Not only this, but the knowledge provided to us is such that it makes us industry ready.
