Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali is an autonomous public institution. IISER students can avail the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana scholarship a National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Department of Science and Technology has decided to subsume KVPY with Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE). The students in the BS-MS programme at IISER Mohali receive the INSPIRE or KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) fellowship as long as they perform well. While KVPY scholars are admitted "automatically'" to the BS-MS program, the JEE merit-listed students are admitted on the basis of their ranks.

The placement data for IISER 2023 has not yet been made official. IISER Mohali prioritises the comfort of students and faculty members and ensures the campus has modern facilities and infrastructure.
