It is one of the best colleges in Assam academically and is strict regarding attendance.
Placements: Since it is a government college, the placement opportunities are very good. We have internships available at our medical college. The internship salary is regulated by the Assam Medical Council, which is approximately Rs. 35,000 per month. After graduating from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, clinics and hospitals are eager to recruit our graduates.
Infrastructure: The food quality is average. The infrastructure is good. We have a well-furnished mess with well-maintained chairs and tables. The hygiene is also well maintained with proper cleaning every day. We have 2&4 groups for sports. We have tennis, badminton, football and cricket grounds.
Faculty: The education in Jorhat Medical College and Hospital is one the best in Assam. It is very good in academics and has the latest equipment as compared to other medical colleges in Assam. Teachers are well-experienced and highly qualified. The patient flow is also high which helps in academically.

College life at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, Jorhat.
Placements: All the students passing out of the college are appointed as medical officers, so placements are 100%. After four and half years of study, we have to do a paid internship for 1 year. After completing the internship, every student is allotted as a medical officer for one year of rural service.
Infrastructure: The college is amazing. The hostel is available, but there are no single rooms in the hostel. The food in the hostel is okay. There is a 24x7 water and electricity supply in the hostel. There are cleaning staff members who maintain the hygiene of the hospital and the hostel. The lecture halls are big and well-equipped.
Faculty: Exams are conducted every 3 months and we need to pass all exams, so we are allowed for the annual exam. Faculty members are supportive and understanding. They are always there to help students. The course curriculum is a bit hectic but once we get used to it, it becomes very interesting.

My experience as a 1st year MBBS student.
Placements: Since the government MBBS has a compulsory paid 1 year internship programme after the completion of 4 years of academics. To define it as placement would rather be a misnomer. In the state of Assam, the MBBS internship stipend is around Rs. 35,000 per month. Further, in Assam, there is a compulsory 1-year rural service bond, which is paid.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of classrooms is great. The campus size is relatively small. However, the campus is well-maintained, clean, and tidy. Buildings are maintained, and classrooms are well-equipped. Labs are well-equipped. Overall, it is a good place to be in.
Faculty: Faculty members here are good, like every medical college. There would be professors that we would never want to miss a class. There are professors whose classes we would never want to attend the second time. At the end of the day, this is college life. We have to get the knowledge on our own. In exams, if we have studied, they are easy and vice versa. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: The events, crowd, and hostel are great. However, the campus is relatively small in terms of aggregate area.

Our college has good placements and satisfactory academics.
Placements: It is obvious that it's an MBBS degree so placements are 100%. There will be a one-year rotatory internship followed by another year of rural service that is compulsory and legally bonded. Here, roles offered are as a doctor in a nearby PHC, or a medical officer in some CHC as per choice and availability.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good but not the best. The lecture halls are air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi facilities also. There are department-wise libraries and a big central library for reading purposes. Hostel facilities are average (2 students per room) with average mess food quality and taste.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified and there are sufficient number of teachers in each department. Some are very rich in knowledge and explain very well. Exams are quite frequent here and the difficulty level is moderate to hard with being moderate most of the times. Pass percentage is quite good over the years.
Other: In our college, an annual fest is being organised called ESPERANZA, where students from all other medical colleges of Assam take part in various events. There is a cultural night where renowned singers are being invited. This year (2022), it's scheduled for the month of October.
