My Diploma was completed at Kalaniketan College.

Placements: This is a government college, so campus recruitment is compulsory in this college. You complete your Diploma, and then you can get admission through lateral entry in any degree college, which provides you with a one-year discount in a 4-year course, making it a 3-year course for students in the lateral entry program.

Infrastructure: This college has a library, so you can issue books for reading and return them after the exam with no charges applied. Technical labs are available in this college. Daily classes and practical sessions are completed day by day in this college. This course is conducted through the government entrance exam.

Faculty: I took admission through the Polytechnic exam. I scored 60 out of 100, and after counseling, I got into the government Polytechnic college in Jabalpur. You can avail of reservation benefits and scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC students. There are a few branches here, including electrical, civil, mechanical, and mining. However, remain alert because my branch is automobile, which is the hardest branch in my college. Remember, it’s a government college, and attendance is important. In my final year, I liked my college, but the 2 years in college felt like a compulsion. Also, remember there is no hostel facility and no canteen.

The college had a lot of bad reviews.

Placements: The college’s placement was not very impressive. According to the previous year’s figures, around 40-50% of students got placements. The highest package offered was 4 LPA, and the average package ranged from 2-3 LPA, which was not very impressive. Insurance companies like Magma and Tech Mahindra participated in the placements.

Infrastructure: The college lacked in providing facilities and infrastructure. The college buildings were not well maintained, there was no Wi-Fi access, and no interactive boards. The library was not in the college. The college had a small canteen that provided average food. Some sports facilities were also available for students who were interested in different sports.

Faculty: Teachers were qualified and experienced in their respective fields, but they were not very helpful and supportive. The curriculum was not fully industry-relevant. The semester exams were moderately difficult. Around 50% of students passed the semester exams.

Other: I chose this course because my relatives advised me that there was scope in this field. The course taught me a lot about machines and the automobile industry. The college didn't organize any events or fests, and there was no campus crowd. Overall, the college didn't have a vibrant campus life.

Placements: According to last year’s records, the college has poor placement results, with about 30-40% of students getting placed. The highest package offered was around INR 4 LPA, and the average package was between 2-3 LPA. Some insurance companies like Magma Insurance, Mahindra are the recruiting companies.

Infrastructure: The college buildings are very dense and old there is no regular maintenance of the infrastructure. Although the canteen food is good college provides facilities like sports, and medical facilities. There are some teams for different sports that participate in inter-college competitions. Classrooms are just average also no Wi-Fi access is available.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and experienced. They are knowledgeable in their fields. The course is not fully relevant but it provides insights about the industry. Semester exams are moderate; they are not easy, with a passing percentage of only 50%. About half of the students fail each semester.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in the automobile industry this course is demanding in the industry which provides good growth opportunities. The college's campus is very crowded, there are scholarships provided by the government but the college doesn't organise any fest and events.

The worst decision of my life is my college.

Placements: As per the reports of previous year placements, the college has below-average states. According to the placements of 2024, the highest package offered is 4 LPA, and the average package offered is 2-3 LPA, whereas around 30-40% of students get placed during placements, which is very low. Not many reputed companies participate in the placement process.

Infrastructure: The college campus and infrastructure are average because of the old and unmaintained buildings. Most of the campus is with forest. The food quality in the canteen is good, and medical facilities are available. Students get to play sports. They are encouraged to participate in NCC.

Faculty: Faculty is no doubt, and they are good. They are helpful, qualified, and well-experienced. The course curriculum is not relevant but provides insights of the industry. The semester exams are moderately difficult because of the streams. About 50% of students pass every semester, while half fail and get ATKT.

Other: I chose this course because of my parents and my interest. The course is in demand in the industry and provides good growth opportunities. Although, the course lacks an industry-relevant curriculum. The college doesn’t organize any fests or events.
