Our college is new, it started in 2017.
Placements: Firstly, I am glad for this opportunity. Our college has three major branches Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. I have chosen Electronics Engineering, and there are good opportunities for hill students to secure a great future. In my course, there are excellent packages, with salaries above one lakh after B.Tech. Companies like Tata, Amazon, and many more hire from our college.
Infrastructure: In our college, there are very good facilities, such as fans in every room. There are good mentors, and classrooms and labs are in excellent condition. There are library facilities and a good quality canteen. All types of sports facilities, both indoor and outdoor, are available, and we get chances to perform with students from other districts.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified, and the teaching quality is excellent. Yes, it makes students industry-ready. It is not very tough for average students, as hard work matters. Each subject has a dedicated professor for every department, and all the teachers are well-educated. In our college, there is a very good pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because it is a very beneficial course for my future. For me, it's all good, and I am satisfied with my course and college. We celebrate all types of programs, such as Independence Day, students' farewell, and freshers' party. There are opportunities for scholarships, and we have all types of extracurricular activities and many more.

Kalimpong Government Polytechnic has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

| After 10th Diploma | Candidate must have passed the 10th standard (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subjects securing at least 35% marks (no rounding up) in aggregate as per AICTE norms excluding the marks of the subject taken as additional. Candidates appearing in the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in 2021 with English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subjects may also apply. However, conforming to the benchmark of 35% marks (no rounding up as per AICTE norms) in aggregate excluding the marks of the subject taken as additional, is a must, failing which candidature is liable to be cancelled even after selection in JEXPO-2021. Candidate should not be born after 01.07.2006 and there is no upper age limit. |
