The answer to this question depends on the course applied by the candidate. In case of MBA, aspirants are offered admission based on their TANCET score. TANCET is an admission test conducted by Anna University once in a year. It is a state-level entrance exam conducted in offline mode for two hours. Talking about the TANCET score required for admission, The MIET TANCET cutoff for 2024 increased from 6542 in 2022, 6504 in 2023 to 6250 in 2024 indicates selective intake.
MIET Engineering College admissions are both merit and entrance-based. The college considers qualifying exam scores of the aspirants followed by TNEA rank for admission to BE/ BTech courses. Besides, the selection for MBA and ME courses is based on TANCET and GATE/ CEETA PG scores. Aspirants have to appear for respective entrance exam counselling for admission.
Candidates applying for BE/ BTech cannot get into MIET Engineering College without TNEA rank. Aspirants after completing Class 12 have to participate in the TNEA Counselling. The seats are alloted to aspirants based on their TNEA rank. Aspirants applying under the Management Quota do not require participate in TNEA. Such aspirants are offered direct admission.
Candidates who have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for MIET Engineering College MBA programme. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for BC /BCM /MBC /DNC /SC /SCA /ST. Such aspirants only required a minimum of 45% aggregate in graduation to apply for MBA. Besides, aspirants must also have a valid TANCET score for MBA admission.
