Manipal Institute of Technology MCA Courses & Fees 2026: Eligibility, Fees, Admission, Placement & Application

Manipal Institute of Technology, also known as MIT Manipal currently offers UG & PG courses in the stream of Engineering and Computer Applications. These courses are BTech, MTech and MCA. All the courses at MIT Manipal are offered under several specialisations. Admissions to all the programmes are conducted under the guidance of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). The Institute conducts a Manipal Entrance Test MET in three phases every year for admission to all its UG & PG courses, except for MCA. In addition to this, it also accepts GATE scores for MTech programme.

Manipal University's Department of Manipal Institute of Technology offers a four-year BTech course. Those who are seeking admission to BTech course are required to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria as per the course requirements. Candidates who passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as main subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or any technical vocational subject are eligible to apply for this course. They must have obtained 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and any other optional subject in combinations. This is a mandatory step to qualify for all the General Category Indian aspirants for MIT Manipal BTech admissions. 

Manipal Institute of Technology offers an MCA course with IT and Software specialisations. The selection criteria for the programme is merit-based. However, the candidate has to complete Class 12 passed BCA / BSc (Computer Science / IT)/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree. The other option would be that the candidate should pass BSc / BCom/ BA from a recognised university with Mathematics at Class 12 or Graduation Level with at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Karnataka PGCET exam is conducted once every year. The exam score is valid for one exam session only. Karnataka PGCET is an offline exam with as many as 100 MCQs to be answered within 150 minutes.  Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test is administered annually by Karnataka Examination Authority. Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE tuition fee ranges between INR 1.2 L – INR 15 L for various courses. After ranks are out, qualified applicants need to participate in the Manipal Institute of Technology BTech counselling. In this process, candidates need to list their preferred engineering specialisations based on their merit ranks, either online or offline.

Admission to BTech MIT Manipal is based on a mandatory entrance test, i.e., Manipal Entrance Test MET followed by online/physical counselling sessions. This exam is conducted every year in 3 phases. Interested students need to qualify the exam with valid scores in order to get admission. The total fee for the BTech course ranges between  8.1 L & 13.5 L. In order to be eligible for the BTech course at Manipal Institute of Technology, students must have scored at least 45-50% aggregate in 12.
