Manipal Institute of Technology MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
MIT offers a two-year PG level MTech course. This course is taught in 28 specialisations, namely Avionics, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Defence Technology, etc. Admission to Manipal MTech course is done through valid scores of candidates obtained in MET entrance exam. This exam is conducted by the institute every year in three phases. The final seats are allocated via the institute's counselling process. MIT MAHE tuition fee for M.Tech costs around INR 2.2 L – INR 2.7 L. The fee excludes other components like examination fee, application fee, hostel fee, etc.
MIT Manipal admissions to all the UG & PG courses is entrance-based, except for MCA. In order to get admission to Manipal Institute of Technology, candidates are required to qualify for MET, which is an in-house entrance exam of Manipal University. Manipal Institute of Technology has no provision of direct admission except for the two-year MCA course, where candidates for this PG course is selected based on their merit obtained in the last qualifying exam of undergraduate. In order to be eligible for the BTech course at Manipal Institute of Technology, students must have scored at least 45-50% aggregate in 12.
Usually the Karnataka PGCET admit card is released 10 days before the exam, as per the past year trends. However, in the current session, candidates have been issued the Karnataka PGCET hall ticket around 6 days before the exam. Candidates aree allowed to download the Karnataka PGCET admit card until the exam date.
To download the Karntaka PGCET admit card candidates have to use Karnataka PGCET registration number and password. There is no separate JEE Main cutoff for the OBC category at Manipal Institute of Technology.
For regular B.Tech admissions, MIT primarily admits students based on the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) merit list, rather than category-wise JEE Main ranks. The institute does not publicly release separate OB
